DETAIL OVERVIEW OF THE ASSESSMENT

This is anindividual written assessment. This assessment will require you to demonstrate your understanding of the learnings achieved throughout the MBA course to also demonstrate a systems thinking approach. Specifically, this assessment requires the following steps:

1. Identifythree (3) strategic issuesthat are expected to impact the company(please select a company with strategic issues)and, at ahigh level,provide options for how organisations in your sector might address these issues. Note:a strategic issue is not a business as usualscenario, for example, lowering emissions which will be captured under legislation. Explain the Strategic issues in a few paragraphs,and the supporting data fro each issues can be in the appendices.
2. Select and explain one (1) of the strategic issuesand justify a specific pathway (option) for howyour organisationwill address the strategic issue i.e.develop a strategy.
3. Detail and draw on the learnings you have achieved fromorganisational strategyandat least three (3) other disciplines(e.g. financial decision making, HR, legal, marketing, ethics, sustainability, Strategic operation management, organizational transformation and change management, etc.) learned in the MBA. Please remember tonot explain the frameworks. You just need to use them or components of them andmust demonstrate how the disciplines are linked/connected in an integrated manner to realise your implementation pathway(in other words, demonstrate how the disciplineswork togetherto fulfil your implementation/actualisation pathway i.e.a systems thinking approach). You need to ensure yousynthesise enough of the discipline with respect to its theory/frameworks to your organisation and strategy. Please note: if you are not currently working, you will need to position yourself within an organisation as if you were (i.e. choose an organisation for the assessment and take the position that you are working there).

For example if you choose discipline on marketing you can use framework on customer journey mapping or other frameworks whichever is relevant and use other frameworks relevant to other two disciplines too and link all three discipline in an integrated manner using system thinking. Draw frameworks and attach in the appendices.

• This is a written report with a maximum of3,000 (+/- 10%)words for main content.
• Provide atwo-page executive summaryof thehigh-level strategic issuesfacing Western power (not included in word count).
• 10 pages for appendices (data to substantiate sector issue,detailed development of frameworks or models).
• Separate references pages (use and cite academic references).
• Please use prose writingNOT a laundry list of bullet points.
• Typed in Times Roman 12 pt font, with double spacing, 2.54 cm top/bottom/left/right
• Name and student number must appear on a separate page.
• Use and cite academic references.
• Add a word count at the end of the paper (before the reference list and appendices).
• Submit paper through Turnitin.

A consideration for this assessment is your ability to demonstrate a well-researched assessment, so the lecturer will be paying particular attention to your choice of academic material.
• As for the number of references, a minimum of20 to 25 peer-reviewedwhich are scholarly is required. The reference format should be aChicago 17B format. You are, therefore, better served by demonstrating awell-researched presentation with reference to multiple academic materialsthe more, the better.
