Instructions
Legal and ethical breaches can occur within the workplace.
In consultation with your workplace supervisor, identify three (3) potential legal and ethical breaches one of which must breach the support and protection of children and young people. Develop a strategic response plan for each that lists and numbers each step of the appropriate response.
You can design your plan in any way youd like e.g. written, the use of pictures, a flow chart etc. Ensure your procedures display industry currency and that your supervisor would approve these plans to be distributed to all relevant employees.
Your Open Colleges Workplace Assessor will validate this during a check-point conversation with you and your Workplace Supervisor.
Suggestions of situations include:
disclosure of sexual assault by a child
sharing personal details of a young person
a client in possession of an illicit substance on the property
an assault
a disclosure of a legal or ethical breach
an allegation against an employee.
Submit one (1) strategic response plan for each of the three (3) potential legal or ethical breaches.

Instructions:
Young people are typically at higher risk to themselves and others when engaging in activities. This can be due to their age, lack of life experience, excitement of risk taking, lack of consideration or knowledge of consequences.
Part A
In consultation with your workplace supervisor, complete a Missing Persons Detail Form for a young person at risk.
You can use the Missing Persons Detail Form provided in Appendix 6.
If you have not had the opportunity to work with a young person at risk, speak with your supervisor and complete the Missing Persons Detail Form for a client your supervisor has worked with who was at risk. In your report you need to identify:
the factors which contribute to the young person being at risk,
the relevant information that should be communicated when lodging the report
the mandatory processes which you are required to follow.
Part B
In consultation with your workplace supervisor, provide a reflective journal entry (approximately 300 words a template has been provided on page 17 of this document) which gives an overview of the organisation where you are undertaking work placement procedures for reporting children or young people at risk.

Task 14A: Facilitate workplace debriefing This is Task 14A of 16
The purpose of workplace debriefing and supervision of staff is to provide a safe and confidential environment for staff to discuss and reflect on both personal and professional responses in the workplace.
Task
Conduct and submit two (2) written supervision records with two (2) different staff members. The focus of the sessions is self-care including addressing and monitoring strategies to manage stress levels and emotional wellbeing.
If you do not have the opportunity to conduct supervision sessions in the workplace, ask friends, family members or study buddies to play the role of a staff members.
You can use a document from your workplace or use the Supervision Record template provided in Appendix 9 and 10.

Task 15: Case management supervision This is Task 15 of 16
Part 2 must be assessed in the work place by your Open Colleges Work Place Assessor (WPA).
Date: WPA name: WPA signature: Outcome (S/NYS): You will be required to perform Part 2 of this Task in the presence of your Open Colleges Work Place Assessor (WPA) during their workplace site visit. At the completion of their observation during their site visit you will be provided with feedback in regards to your performance. You will need to complete the document outlined in Part 1 and upload this in OpenSpace prior to the arrival of the WPA.
In addition, your Work Place Assessor may liaise with your Workplace Supervisor to gather any supplementary evidence to support assessment results.
This task requires you to demonstrate your ability to undertake a leadership role in the delivery of quality case management. This includes sharing information and providing advice on practice issues relating to case management within the organisation.
