Task 2: Viva Voce/multmodal reflection EDST4180
Task Description
Context
Education has changed significantly over the past two decades, and the world of teaching has evolved from very traditional, industrial forms of pedagogies and environments to diverse, innovative pedagogies and classroom practices. The introduction of technology and subsequent globalisation has increased teacher connectivity beyond the four walls of the classroom and has opened exciting avenues of exploration in teaching and learning.
You are entering this world. A world where teachers can select and implement researched based innovative learning pedagogies and classroom practices to ensure the engagement of all students within their classes. There is no one way to reach every child, however, experimenting with different pedagogies means a teacher will have a wide repertoire in which to drawn from to meet the diverse needs of students today (and in the future).
Task
You will be presenting an evaluation ofONEinnovative pedagogy or classroom practice that you have researched and implemented and have gained data to be able to make insightful judgments on its effectiveness as an innovative pedagogy or classroom practice in an Australian secondary school context. To be able to effectively evaluate your chosen innovative pedagogy or classroom practice, you need to implement the strategy within one of your teaching specialised areas and should refer to this pedagogy or classroom practices relevance within your teaching area as part of your evaluation. You will need to refer to several forms of evidence or data from your implementation of the specific innovative pedagogy or classroom practice, during your Viva Voce, to be able to demonstrate validity of your evaluations.
NB: Please contact Rose Garofano if you are NOT completing a school placement this semester to discuss variation of assessment task.
