Purpose
The purpose of an educational factsheet is to provide practical, field-related information on: The role
of the helping professions in fostering sustainable communities for a specific target audience
conveyed effectively, clearly and concisely through both text and graphics.
Process
To complete this task, you will focus on sustainability challenges related to climate change and reflect on the role of helping professions in fostering sustainability with respect to
this issue. In this assessment your target audience will be professionals associated with your own
discipline and then consider how to convey facts about the sustainability issue in an effective and
communicative manner.
The resulting document will be 2 pages, with the first page being the fact sheet and the second page
being a reference list. References are excluded from the 1000-word limit.
The assessment is required to consist of:
A 2-page electronic factsheet. This factsheet may be A2 size and presented in portrait or
landscape format
Page 1: The 1000-word Educational Factsheet specific to the nominated general topic of: The

Draw on your personal learning environment skills to think about how to collect, connect,
reflect, and share information for this factsheet
Design a factsheet drawing on the sections outlined below (and using the examples provided
as a guide):
o Facts - What is the context? This section aims to raise awareness for the reader.
This could be represented in images. Include facts that would engage your target
audience and inform them about the issue. All facts are required to be supported with
an appropriate academic reference.
o What the issue is and the impact on or responsibility of your chosen helping
profession. For example, why should counsellors or psychologists be motivated to
act on this sustainability issue? How does this issue impact the industry?
o Approach - What action can the audience take? This can include tips and advice.
o Further information - Where can the audience go for more information?
Ensure that appropriate references are provided and included on page 2 of the document
