This assessment comprises ofthreetasks and requires you to communicate about your project in both written and oral formats:

Task 1: Final Report 25%

In this task, you are required to present your final report that will discuss the results, findings, conclusion and lessons learnt from the project undertaken. You will present your report as a journal article, using the template provided by your lecturer. The report must begin with an Abstract section worth 5% and is a single paragraph (200 words) that summarizes the significant aspects of the project. Typically the report will follow the headings and sections using IEEE format that follows the IMRAD structure (Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion). This is a common structure to follow for a journal article of original research. IMRAD refers to the use of the section headings as highlighted in bold below, but you can ADD other section headings if required :TITLE(Try to limit the title length to 10-12 words)ABSTRACT(The Abstract summarises the Introduction, Methodology, Discussion and Conclusion. This is worth 5% of the Task 1 mark of 25% and is a single paragraph (200 words)INTRODUCTION(The Introduction section explains the background, a clear gap analysis and relevant research questions. METHODS(Methodology section usually explains the techniques used, in particular to the data collection and data analysis to be carried out).RESULTS(Results reveal relevant figures and facts. The results are supported by proper textual explanations).DISCUSSION(Discussion of the results is designed logically to answer the research questions with a critical approach).CONCLUSION(Conclusion reveals the flow of information from the discussion and it is coherent ending of the findings and can signpost further research).Acknowledgements(Optional)REFERENCES(References are APA compliant. All references are cited in the text and the bibliographical data is mentioned correctly. In-text citation is placed with the right format and in the right place).

2. Task 2: Seminar Presentation20%In this task, students are required to present their research as an oral,live-to-class or pre-recordedpresentationas advised by your lecturer. Presenting a seminar also helps to demonstrate that you have understood the project work that has been carried out. The intended audience could be your peers as well as invited guests and academics. The time has been deliberately limited to 10 minutes to force you into selecting the most appropriate subset of information to present for this situation and you will be heavily penalised if you take more than 15 minutes. According to your study mode, the seminar can be done either of two ways:

pre-recorded video presentation - if studyingonline modethen technical production of the audio and video is consideredin lieuof question time.

live to a class of peers - if studyingon campus, post Covid-19 restrictions, then question time is not part of the presentation time.

NOTE: If doing a pre-recorded video presentation you can use either of the following formats:

MP4 file: Panopto (CSU Replay), ZOOM, YouTube, Vimeo, etc. OR Voice-over-PowerPoint) and store on a cloud site with a link shared with your lectures (preferably embedded in the assessment task 1) for marking.

The seminar should be accompanied by appropriate audio/visual tools such as a set of presentation slides or examples of hardware/software/systems that are necessary for the audience to understand and follow your presentation.

On-campus, students will be advised of the date and time of the presentation by their lecturers.

TASK 3 Blog Progress Report - 5%

Your blog entries will be reviewed by the marker for regular postings and marks will be awarded accordingly.

For this assessment, you will extend or modify your current Project Brief andcreate a detailed project proposal and planfor your chosen research topic. The proposal should clearly and concisely outline the key aspects of your research, including the main research problem, a review of the relevant literature, the significance of the study, the research methodology, any ethical issues that may arise, and the critical steps that will be taken during the research process.

This checklist can be used when addressing key aspects of your full Project Proposal and Plan

Identifies the key research problem

Discusses what the literature is saying about the problem identifiedExplains the significance of the studyDescribe the research methodology being usedState and discuss any ethical issues that your chosen methodology raisesHighlights the critical steps that will be undertaken in the researchNOTE:

Use thesample templateprovided in the presentation section as a guide for organizing your proposal. It shows the sequence and location of each heading in the report.

Use theSix Critical Thinking Questionsbelow the Rationale to help write the proposal and plan in conjunction with the template.

Rationale

This assessment comprises two tasks.

TASK 1 Annotated Bibliography

You are required towrite an annotated bibliographyfor your selected topic by synthesizing information fromat least 12 journal articlessourced from well-reputed sources e.g. Springer, Wiley, Elsevier, and IEEE Xplore, etc. The annotated bibliography is a critical examination of the most relevant and recent scholarly research on a topic area that is not just a summary of the articles and can be used later in an expanded literature review. You can access the latest journals by using Primo search via the Charles Sturt library linkhttps://library.csu.edu.au/Moreover, a consolidated list of all IT and computing research databases is also available from this link:https://libguides.csu.edu.au/az.php?s=31165.You can also use Google Scholar (https://scholar.google.com.au/)to search for related articles.

CSU supports the use of EndNote which is a bibliographic citation program, that allows references and footnotes to be translated into a variety of standard formats. As a CSU student, that format will be APA7. You can download and installEndNote X20for Windows or Mac OS platforms fromhttps://libguides.csu.edu.au/endnote

Some additional guidance in regard to writing an annotated bibliography can be sourced from topics 3, 4, and 5 on the ITC571 Interact2 site. Some extra help is also available from the CSU Library resources for Information Technology, Computing, and Mathematics athttps://libguides.csu.edu.au/ITC571

TASK 2 Reflecting on my Task 1 Experiences

In this task, write a reflectionof approximately 250 words that summarizes your personal thoughts, discoveries, and insights from the articles you used to develop your annotated bibliography. This reflection should be in your own words and should emphasize any important trends or patterns that you discovered while researching your chosen topic. Conclude this task by stating how yourfindings influenced the directionof your research e.g. refinement of the main problem or key research question.

This assessment (A1) comprises oftwo tasksas listed below that will be submitted using the template provided:

Task 1:Project Brief - 8 Marks

For this task, you will be required to create aproject briefby reading and synthesizing information from at least 3 or more high-quality journal articles.Your brief should include the following:

Project Title: a short title of 12-15 words.

Project Brief:

Abstract: a summary of your chosen topic in 150 words.

Background/Description: provide context for your topic.

Project Aim/Objectives: specify the goals of your project.

Project Problem Domain: explain why you are undertaking this project and what key research questions it addresses.

Deliverables/Outcomes: describe the expected results or outputs of your project.

Resources consulted: list the three or more sources you used for your research so far.

Alignment with course or specialization: discuss how your project aligns with the course or specialization you are studying. Use the "Course/Specialisation Primer" below Task 2 of A1 for guidance.

Task 2: Set up a Project Blog - 2 Marks

In this task, you will be setting up a project blog using the CSU Thinkspace site athttp://thinkspace.csu.edu.au/or a blog site of yourown choice. You will be expected to regularly add blog entries throughout the course of the subject to show the progress of your project. These blog entries will be part ofAssessment Item 4 (A4)and the final report and seminar presentation. To set up your blog:

Go to the CSU Thinkspace site or your chosen blog site and set up an account.

Use a suitable title for your blog (e.g. "Joe's Wireless Technology Project") and a unique web address, such as your student number.

Create your first blog post, introducing yourself and the project. This post should include information about who you are, what you do, and your experience and interest in the project. Save and publish the post, and check that it is visible to a friend or family member.

Share your project title and blog link in the discussion forum for the subject, so that other students can see it and engage in peer-to-peer discussion.

Note: It is essential to regularly add blog entries throughout the course to show the progress of your project. These blog entries will beevaluated lateras part of Assessment Item 4, along with the final report and seminar presentation.

Assessment Item 1 Course or Specialisation Primer:You can choose a topic or problem domain from thecourse/specialisationoffered in the degree of your current enrolment. This short list below may act as a guide to get you started on your topic selection, making sure that it aligns with your course requirements. It includes:

Computer NetworkingSpecial topics in networking often overlap with other areas of specialisation areas such as cloud computing, network security, SDNs, IoT sensors networks, cyber security, dark web and other emerging technologies. Also related to the Network Security specialisation.
