Some tips:
- This assignment is a blend of scholarship and reflection. You can use I in this assignment but you must back up your claims (for example, your definition of Creative Industries) with the academic readings.
- This is not a question and answer task. The report should be structured like an essay. You can use subheadings, however, if you choose.
- You will need a reference list (APA). This means including in text citations and a reference list at the end of your assignment.
- This assignment is about you, your aspirations and your future. Potentially, it can set a really strong context for your degree and the cultivation of your emerging expertise inthe Creative Industries so do give time to this task to reflect critically on what you hope to achieve and experience in your studies and your career more generally.
- Crucially, the task also helps you ground your emerging expertise in the scholarly literature so review the readings carefully and use them to support your claims and ideas.
- The person whose career you have chosen to follow is important. Choose someone you admire. You might even consider interviewing them with a few short email questions or a phone call (if theyre available). This is not necessary but it is a terrific opportunity to build your network and connections.
