Assessment 1
Assignment Content
Description: Reflective Journal
Value: 20%
Length: 500 words (min)
Task
There are two separate tasks associated with this assessment1. Reflective Journal (10%). This assessment involves reflecting on weekly topics and sharing these reflections on a private journal space on Learnline, only accessible by yourself and the lecturer.
2. Participation in Discussions (10%). Each week there will be a forum for discussion on Learnline. I will be checking the discussion board throughout the term to see that people are participating in the discussions. Your grade will be based on how active your contributions are so please contribute to these discussions with your thoughts, questions, and perspectives.
Due
Task One (Reflective Journal) = due Week 3 (22 March 2024)
Task Two (Participation in Discussion Board) = due Week 11 (17 May)
Preparation
Please consider the following to help guide your personal reflections:
Week 1: What did you take away from Moreton-Robinson and Walter's paper regarding Indigenous methodologies?
Week 2: Please reflect upon the concept of whiteness using the following questions to guide you.:
How did the notion of white privilege make you feel and why do you think you felt that way?
Was there any one part or argument in the article by Walter et al. (2011) that left a real impression on you (and why)? A good idea here might be to include a direct quote from the article and then unpack your thoughts in your reflective your reflective journal.
