IntroductionBusiness intelligence includes different types of activities like analytics of business, data mining, visualisation of different data, using data tools, and the organisation circumstances. In this scenario, the appropriate practices can be followed for the organisation to get assistance in handling more data-driven decisions (Ahmad et al. 2018). Nowadays, different organisations have implemented and followed contemporary business intelligence to understand organisational data and reducing inefficiencies. Its significance is also seen in adapting to different market and supply changes within a short period.
Choosing an organisation of interestThe concept of business intelligence was invented in 1960 and was considered as a system of distributing different information regarding the organisation and the progression can be seen in 1980 with the help of computer models for decision making and shifting the data for a particular perspective to offer particular objectives. In this section, for understanding the perception of business intelligence, YouTube is considered to understand the process and techniques for accumulating storing and identifying the data for the business operations and different activities to enhance the performances of YouTube (Keller, 2018).
In this section, it will be discussed how YouTube takes the assistance of business intelligence in the organisational context:
Identifying different of customers and their pattern of taking services from YouTube and the styles of selling the data.
Assess, check and assume different cells and financial performances of YouTube.
Understanding the cost and implications of recruiting and hiring people for the betterment of the operations of YouTube (Tufekci, 2018).

The importance of business intelligence is high as it assists the organisation to make better decisions with the help of present and past data which have already been used in the business context of YouTube. The process of analysis can leverage business intelligence to offer performances and rivals benchmarks to develop different strategies for running the business of YouTube more efficiently. The supports of analysts can be seen in an easy way to the market trends for enhancing sales or revenues. With the help of analysis, it is possible to accumulate data and it can assist the organisation from compliance to hiring reports. It also helps to identify the ways for enhancing profits and by following this YouTube has gained so much profit in several years. They can also understand the customer behaviour and their expectations of the customers and can compare the data with the rivals. In this way, business intelligence supports YouTube for predicting success and find out optimise operations to check the performances.
Identifying a priority for that organisationThere are different processes and activities that will be discussed or business intelligence from the perspective of YouTube for enhancing the performance level, these are described below:
Data mining: with the help of database statistics and modern machine learning approaches it is possible to understand different trends in big data sets. YouTube is for following the latest strategy to accumulate data.
Reporting: with the help of sharing data analysis to stakeholders YouTube can bring conclusions and make effective decisions for the betterment in the future days.
Performance metrics and benchmarking: after making a comparison with recent performance data compared with the conventional way of storing data it can be concluded that the performances of YouTube have enhanced against objectives with the help of customised dashboards.
Accumulating data: YouTube needs to understand the importance of accumulating data from the visitors subscribers and customers so they can plan and organise all the analytics data in a systematic formation.
Storage of data: irrespective of the size of the business the organisation needs to accumulate and store the data for numerous reasons. For instance, YouTube is one of the successful and renowned social media platforms across the globe. In terms of getting benefits, these stored data need to be e placed in a certain area so that the data stakeholders can access these with the help of SQL database or with the help of any database software. The storage solution for data needs to be up-to-date so that YouTube can act according to the changes in data within a short period.
Descriptive analytics: with the help of preliminary data analysis, it is possible to understand what is happening in the accumulated and stored data of YouTube.
Querying: it is required to understand specific questions asked by the customers and in this context, the importance of Business Intelligence can seem by answering these set of questions with the help of data sets.
Data visualisation: it is important to shift data analysis into a form of visual representation for the betterment and it can proceed with using charts, graphs and different histograms so that the consuming of data can be possible by following a simple manner. YouTube get a lot of advantages in the data visualisation process of business intelligence.
Statistical analysis: after conducting descriptive analytics it is required to collect the results from it and then proceed with exploring the data with the help of statistics and in this way, it is possible to understand how this trend has happened and the reason behind that for YouTube (Calof et al. 2017).
Visual analysis: it is required to collect the data from different types of data sources and analysing the dimensions and assessments of preparing the data analysis for YouTube.

Identifying questions that support this priority by showing insight
Importance of implementing Business Intelligence in the organisational context of YouTube:
Usability: After applying the business intelligence from the perspective of YouTube, it is difficult to utilize, therefore, the organisation needs to more averse to utilize it within the organisational area (Villamarn and Diaz Pinzon, 2017).
Custom dashboards: In terms of producing the outcomes that YouTube is generally not simply standard reports. YouTube needs to understand the strategies for gaining more profit (Ul-Ain et al. 2019).
Predictive analysis: The capacity to ask "imagine a scenario in which" is significant. Utilizing gathered information, entrepreneurs can utilize this component to assess business choices before they are concluded and make an essential arrangement.
Intuitive reports: YouTube ought to have the option to pull a report depending on the present situation and afterwards drill down into the particulars, look for patterns, sort report information into various sets utilizing new boundaries, and feature information special cases.
Positioning reports: This report includes permits of the YouTube organisation to choose the best and most noticeably poor-performing informational indexes inside the business of YouTube (Vugec et al. 2020). YouTube can go through this to stock on top-of-the-line product and drop low performing merchandise, reward top deals workforce, or recognize the most elevated performing office.
Working in Business Intelligence
The contemporary business intelligence is interactive and approachable for the organisation and that is why the IT department of YouTube finds it important parts for handling different type of data in different levels of users and they are trying to provide convenience to the users so that they can customise dashboards and can generate reports with the help of little notice. The process of business intelligence involves two types of processes for providing convenience to the organisation which are data analytics and business analytics (Saavedra, and Bach 2017). With the help of these two methods, the whole process of YouTube organisation can proceed. The assistance of Business Intelligence can be seen in concluding of the users with the help of data analytics. On the other hand, data scientists try to find out different specifications of data and the existence of contemporary statistics and predictive analytics to understand the patterns and focused future patterns which may arrive in the organisational area of YouTube. Business intelligence takes the assistance of different models and algorithms for understanding and bringing good results from the actionable language.
In this section advancement of implementing business intelligence on the organisational context of YouTube has been considered, which are:
- Enhancing the selling rate to existing customers:
As we already discussed the significance and benefits of using business intelligence in the organisational context of YouTube. It can be concluded that the probability of selling for existing customers will be enhanced with the implementation of business intelligence. Moreover, it has to reach new customers by following strategies (Ainet al.2017). YouTube can also understand and track the data of the customers. It also provides the opportunity to cross-sell different products or services.
- Give Better Customer Service
With the help of Business intelligence, YouTube can easily track all the details of the customers and can easily deal with them. Consequently, in this scenario, the breakdown of purchasing propensities is required. Moreover, YouTube can make a more complete image after understanding the business needs of the clients. With significant knowledge from effective BI programming of YouTube, in terms of the outreaching group, they can easily approach client gatherings in a convenient way for reacting to different questions. In this context, it is required to examine likely freedoms for cost investment funds, for developing new items they can use to develop effective deals.
- Settle on Data-Driven Decisions
In terms of being competitive with rivals in the same market, YouTube follows different market trends and maintaining their competence. In this context, YouTube needs admittance which is dependent on the current data gathered by YouTube for conducting their business. At the same time, YouTube records to utilise this data for driving the choices in the organisational context.
- A Single Source of Truth for Reporting
From the perspective of some organisation, it is seen that the information regarding clients and products come to action in a similar way of maintaining different frameworks and its expansion can be seen across the business of YouTube. On the other hand, this divergence in frameworks cannot be accessed by other people and that is why YouTube has gained much popularity compared with other social media who are making videos. Always follow unique activities for conducting their business profitably and effectively. In this context, the requirements of business knowledge programming can be seen for accumulating crucial business information for YouTube. The coordination of Business Intelligence can be seen in this to follow different effective frameworks which also involves, Endeavour Asset Management, retail location, stockroom/production network the board and client relationship with the executives (CRM). This combination empowers comprehensive information to be estimated through the business knowledge device of YouTube.
Backing for Other Departments
As YouTube is a big organisation, so it needs to handle different departments for smoothly running business operations. Significant insight benefits more than your outreach group (Trieu, 2017).
ConclusionWith the implementation of Business Intelligence, YouTube moves toward each connection with its outreach group of customers completely by considering the expectations of the clients and regions. YouTube can impart progress within a short period and address concerns while enabling them with helpful information, scorecards, and extensive perspectives on all. In this way, they can be addressing the concerns effectively with clients that may bring quick, effective business development.

If youre not sure how to start the assignment,
a suggested work breakdown schedule is here.
Week 1: Write the priority and supporting questions after the Week 1 workshop.
Follow the requirements in the Presentation Structure and Contents table on p. 12 of the assignment guide. I have further details in the gold box Overview of Key Priority in this template (see the next page).
Week 2: Write 5 supporting questions after the Week 2 workshop
Follow the requirements in the Presentation Structure and Contents table on p. 12 of the assignment guide (Insights to be gained from the Dashboard).
A poorly-written question will make it very difficult for you to find data. See the tips on how to write good questions in this template (gold box, Dashboard Questions section).
Week 3: Search for reputable supporting data/rewrite questions
Finding data requires perseverance and thinking outside the box by trying different sites and search terms. I have provided a full page of starting points for data sources (see p. 10 of the assignment guide) which you may find helpful.
I also have a list of sources to not use on the same page.
The data you use does not have to be Australian and it does not have to be for the organisation specifically.
You can use sector data or data for a similar organisation (or anything else that you believe is relevant). The point is to show the client what is possible if they use their own data because we do not have access to their internal data warehouse. Sometimes they dont even have that data themselves, so youre also educating them on what data they should collect!
Week 4: Sample Dashboard & References. Write up report in this template.
Follow the requirements in the Presentation Structure and Contents table on pp. 13-14 of the assignment guide.
Finalise your report and SUBMIT!
You have submitted with time to spare and youre a lot more relaxed arent you? I knew you could do it!

Overview of Key Priority
Provide 2-3 paragraphs, where 1 paragraph is 6-8 lines.
The paragraphs should motivate the priority so by the time the client reads it, they have a clear understanding why this is important and relevant. This is a great place to reference sources to back up your argument
The priority should have at least 3 components (WHAT, WHY and/or HOW). A WHAT component is required, however you can use WHY and HOW as needed. A priority could be WHAT/WHY/WHY, WHAT/WHY/HOW, WHAT/HOW/HOW for example.
Present the priority on a separate line after presenting the motivation for it do not embed as part of a paragraph this way it stands out and the client sees it easily.
Present the priority as a single sentence - see the workshop and tutorial for examples. You do not need to write WHAT/WHY/HOW this is to help you formulate your priority, however the client will only see the final product (a fantastic priority they didnt think of themselves which is why they need to hire you )
Dashboard Questions
A maximum of 1 page of writing.
Each question should be clearly presented as indicated below:
Question 1
State the question and explain the insights gained/capability it offers, the level of management it is aimed at (Strategic, Tactical, Operational) and whether the question is at the Elementary, Intermediate or Overall level.
Question 2
State the question and explain the insights gained/capability it offers, the level of management it is aimed at (Strategic, Tactical, Operational) and whether the question is at the Elementary, Intermediate or Overall level.
Continue this structure for Questions 3 5. You are welcome to rename Question 1, Question 2 to something more meaningful if you wish.
Tips on how to write good questions!
Tip #1 There should be one question per priority component. E.g. if your priority is made up of WHAT-WHY-HOW, there should be one question addressing WHAT, one addressing WHY and one addressing HOW. The remaining two questions can be used to further support the priority as you think necessary (e.g. you may wish to focus on 2 more WHY questions, or 1 WHY and 1 HOW, for instance).
Tip #2 A good question is written as either something that can be measured (including time and money) or counted. If you cant picture what is being counted or measured, then rephrase or replace the question with something you can picture being counted or measured, and you will have less difficulty with the data section. (continued over)
E.g. questions such as
What are the impacts of the new training program?
are hard to find data for how do you measure impacts? What would the visualisation look like? I dont know what to picture in my mind if you cant picture it in your mind, you will have a hard time finding data for it.
Questions such as:
How much is spent each year on training programs in across Australia?
can be visualised with a graph because it contains something we can clearly measure (amount spent). E.g. it is easy to picture in our minds we could use bar charts, we could use map and markers to indicate amount spent at different locations
Similarly, the question
How many people participate in training programs?
can also be easily visualised as it is something we can count bar charts, bubble chart with bubbles by program type, maps
Data and Data Sources
Present the data as a table following the layout as shown below. You are welcome to customise this table however it is expected these two columns will be presented in your submission.
Each entry under the column Data Item and Data Sources should clearly state which question the data source will support (it is fine to support multiple questions with one data source).
Sample Dashboard
Search on the web for images of a dashboard to include in the proposal to give the CEO/Owner an idea of what you will build. Alternatively, mock one up using Word, PowerPoint or any other software you like. Include captions and explanation of the dashboard.
A full list of requirements can be found in the Assignment Guide (see the table in the Section Written Proposal for Steps 1, 2 + 3: Presentation + Structure).
Sample dashboards are shown on the following pages to inspire your own dashboard design.

General Presentation Tips:
The marking criteria has allocated 10% of the final mark to presentation.
At a bare minimum we require:
1, The title page should be on a separate page.
2. The overview of the key priority should start on a separate page after the title. All other sections after this overview should flow continuously from one another. Dont start a new page for any of these sections (4 mark penalty).
Were looking forward to seeing your own personal style with your final submission
Checklist before submission:
1. You have checked the contents/layout of this report against the Presentation Structure and Contents table in the Assignment Guide (pp. 12-14) including the referencing style.
2. You have checked the contents of this report against the marking guide against the Assignment Part 1 Marking Criteria table (Assignment Guide, p. 5).

Sample Dashboards!
To help you think about how to clearly present the dashboard capabilities to your client, I have included two examples of dashboards we have seen in the past. You dont have to follow these exactly, however they may inspire you to think about how you would like to clearly present data for decision-making and interpretation. An advantage of these examples is they made explicit what capabilities the client will be given through the dashboard design, which is why they listen to you in the first place.
