Assessment Task 1a: Group e Poster: Case Study 2
Vanessa Marie is a 25 year old single mother with 3 young children from a previous relationship. She enjoys her coffee (about 6-8 cups per day). She receives Centrelink payments to support her family and that helps her to care for her children. Her children are aged 4 and 3 years old, with the youngest being 6 months old. She breastfeeds her baby but he does not sleep well and keeps crying, making her very tired.
Vanessa has Type 1 Diabetes and takes insulin three times daily. During her maternal and child health visit, she complained of pain in her ears, feeling very tired and cold. She has gained considerable weight over the past few months. The nurse referred her to the local GP, who ran several tests and diagnosed her with hypothyroidism and ear infection
Assessment Task 1B: Case Study 2: 4 Extension Scenarios for Individual Video Recording
Each group member is to study ONE Case Scenario 2 Extension only for the individual task. Each of these scenarios follow on from the original group scenario, but each should be viewed independently of the other extension scenarios.
Allocate each of the 4 groups members as 1, 2, 3 or 4 depending on your group order. This will mean 1 scenario per student, if you have fewer students in your group, you will be omitting the extra scenario extensions. NO student in the group should undertake the same recording as a member within the same group.
