For this assessment, you need to write a report on how to improve the warehouse operations at a specified organisation.You will be presented with a fictitious, though typical, scenario in which a small company has decided to revamp and modernise its warehouse operation.
In the role of a logistics manager, you will write a report to the CEO of the company, in which you will inform him/her of the options and make recommendations best tailored to the operation.
Your report should describe the following:
- Key technologies used (e.g. warehouse management systems);
- Best practice operations, procedures, and processes used in the storage of different products and commodities; and
- How these might be used to best advantage in the warehouse.
Having described the state of the art above, your report should include fully justified recommendations on the likely best fit for the company in the future, and end with a conclusion.
