Brief description of the assessment task
Photographic Strategies is a series of investigations into ways of making and thinking through photography. You will be prompted to respond to a thematic, photographic brief and then bring your work into the weekly seminars for presentation and discussion.
For Part 2 students will produce 2 "Photographic Strategy" image folios, responding to assignment briefs; TIME SPACE and one current EXHIBITION inspired image. Each strategy will require you to devise and enact a photographic process, fulfil a series of technical requirements, and participate in seminar presentations and discussions. Work produced will culminate in the submission of a Portfolio of images, written reflections, and supporting documentation.
Students will be required to bring work into seminars for discussion. 'Photographic Strategies' will culminate in the submission of a digital folio of images, written reflections, and supporting documentation.

Time Space
Brief
Photography is a unique apparatus for understanding, expanding, and critiquing spatiotemporal realms. You are to devise a strategy that uses photography to explore a notion of time or space. You are to make a series of 624 images.
Capture
Images must be captured during trimester 1 in RAW file format with your DSLR in Manual mode.
Processing
Images are to be processed in Adobe Camera Raw, exposure and colour should be informed by your photographic strategy.
Output
TIME SPACE is to be presented as a single digital file as a sequence. High-resolution JPEG or PDF not exceeding 100MB. Please name your file as follows: ACI102_timespace_yourname

1 x 200 word written statement. Describe in what ways you have investigated time or space. Compare your approach to one of the artists introduced in the seminar.
Exhibition
Brief
Take what youve learnt from looking at an exhibitionphotographic work. What has inspired you? Stage a new photographic work that builds on your inspired image. Youre then asked to make an exhibition quality print ready image.
Capture
Images must be captured during trimester 1 in RAW file format with your DSLR in Manual mode.
Processing
Images may befurther adjusted in Photoshop.
