Orthopaedic Device: General description.

A brief description of how the device functions in the body.

List the components and component materials of the device.

Balloon Catheter: Minimum of 5 components.

Orthopaedic Device: Minimum of 3 components.

Discuss why the materials are suitable for the device.

Discuss the device classification EU (Class I, IIa, IIb, III) or FDA (I, II, III) and reason for selection.

Describe a suitable sterilisation method for the device.

Describe the nature and duration of contact of the device with the body.

List four endpoints that should be evaluated as part of a biological evaluation of the device.

Include a minimum of six references (Harvard style).

Please note: A PTCA (coronary) and a Knee or Hip (arthroplasty) are not within the assignment scope
