For this assignment you are expected to review the current literature and understandings of the issue, evidence of wide research is expected. Do not just present a summary of several articles. You mustsynthesisethe informationinto a cohesivediscussion of the topic.

Discuss the human health and environmental effects of ENVIRONMENTAL exposure tooneof the following contaminants: (Note this topic asks for environmental exposure,not workplaceexposure). Evaluate the strength of the evidence used in your discussion. Include case studies from both Australia and overseas.

For an 1200 word literature review, I would expect that you would need to use a minimum of between 10-15 referencesfrom credible sources. Approximately half should be from peer reviewed journal articles. You are also able to use government reports (give report number), online encyclopaedias, text books, etc.Do NOT use Wikipedia or websites by interest groups that have a particular bias. A well constructed website e.g. from a Government Department will usually have references that you can follow up to get your information first hand. Also do not rely on secondary sources or over-rely on direct quotes (1 or 2 in a 1800 lit review is plenty)

The presentation of the reportis of an appropriate academic standard (grammar, spelling, formatting) (10). Marks will be lost if coverpage, section/subsection numbering, wordcount, etc is not as stipulated.

Presentation (20%)

You are also required to record a 5-minute presentation summarising the main points of your literature review.

You are also required to record a 5-minute PowerPoint presentation (range 4.45 - 5.15) summarising the main points of your literature review using Collaborate Ultra (instructions provided)

Maximum 7 slides including a title slide

Slides must be uploaded with the script of what you are going to say in the notes section under each one

Citations required throughout but no reference list slide required as it is assumed references will be same as used for Literature Review

Do not just write out literature review on slides - use dot points and pictures / diagrams - not full sentences

When you record your presentation, before you switch to your slides, you must take a couple of seconds to introduce yourself, where your face is clearly visible. This is not counted in your time allocation
