1. Your attitude and application of constructive teamwork which includes your responsibility and accountability to the team

During this assignment I identified that an individuals attitude and teamwork are key characteristics that underpin successful teamwork and the achievement of pre-determined objectives. Through the embracement of responsibility and accountability, trust and collaboration are gained by team members. Whilst working on the completion of this assignment, we as a team carried positive attitude and all applied ourselves to the tasks we were anointed, the key factors contributing to the success of our team in this assignment related to each individuals level of dedication, responsibility and accountability.

It was found that upholding a positive attitude is what forms the basis of constructive teamwork. Embodying high levels of eagerness and respect for everyones input, and perspectives promotes an environment that values cooperation and the ability to problem solve. By upholding a positive and confident attitude, I noticed that it enhances the ability of all team members to be prepared for potential setbacks and challenges. An attitude underpinned by positivity fundamentally fosters an environment where team members are inspired and motivated to perform to their best ability.

When individuals actively apply themselves to the task to achieve common goals and objectives it promotes the successfulness of the team. Through the process of application, I found that it creates a flow on effect where fellow team members are motivated to also contribute to their best ability and offer their expertise to excel the team. Consequently, when team members are consistently fulfilling the requirements of their role it enhances the level of trust and respect amongst the team. Through the ability of individuals to complete their obligated tasks and embody the characteristics a motivated individual it demonstrates that they are determined, therefore positively impacting team members willingness to work as a team. Through strong application to the tasks, a collaborative environment is established ultimately promoting the overall success and performance of the team.

A key characteristic of teamwork I found is that upholding characteristics of leadership forms the basis of effective teamwork. Team members having the ability to take ownership of assigned duties creates an atmosphere where individuals have clarity and understanding regarding their required contributions to ensure success of the team. Embodying responsibility means that individuals have the priority of the teams success rather than personal interests and consistently endeavours to achieve excelling results. High levels of respect and unity amongst team members is developed when those in the team actively take ownership and responsibility. Having great leadership within the team encourages appropriate problem-solving strategies and the ability to face and overcome hurdles. When there is no responsibility it leads to a problem blaming or accountability avoiding environment.

Individuals praising high levels of accountability is what enhances and encourages personal growth efficient progress within a team environment. By being accountable it enables the acceptance of ones mistakes and the ability to take on constructive feedback. Accountability promotes the level of trustworthiness and transparency amongst team members. The action of actively seeking feedback and learning from mistakes is what makes up the characteristic of being accountable. Ultimately, the embodiment of accountability was found to play a vital role in the progression of a team and the achievement of their goals

2. Teamwork process and challenges including: how you manage communication, collaboration, and negotiation, leading to final decision-making; how you appreciate, manage and reconcile diversity/challenges to achieve better team outcomes; and how the teamwork experience from undertaking this project will better prepare you for future teamwork

The characteristics of managing communication, collaboration and negotiation are what underpin successful teamwork and lead to final decision-making processes. Through the process of maintaining these characteristics it enables the team to function smoothly and minimise any issues arising due to miscommunication. Within my group assignment, I noticed that it was when we were prioritising the use of effective communication skills such as active listening that our group was able to agree on a final decision. To effectively manage collaboration, my group ensured that each member had clear objectives to meet and achieve. The objectives of the group were divided evenly to ensure each team member equally contributed and collaborated within the group. My group ensured that any minor or major disagreements were clearly negotiated upon to ensure all members were respectful of the final decision that was made. Fundamentally, through understanding the importance of these characteristics and embodying them into the functioning of our team it led to successful decisions making processes.

The management of diversity/challenges promotes outcomes where goals are met, as without addressing arising issues it decreases team success. By acknowledging diversity, it means that each team members contributions are recognised and fosters an inclusive environment. When diversity is recognised, it means that everyone feels respected and has the perception that their input is valid and appreciated. I noticed that when I contributed personal ideas into the group and received recognition and praise it encouraged me to contribute further. It is through the acknowledgement of challenges that positive outcomes can occur. When challenges are acknowledged and unpacked it limits the potential of greater issues arising and therefore is an important aspect in effective teamwork. Overcoming diversity requires team members to embody the characteristics of active listening and the willingness to compromise on ideas and beliefs. Fundamentally it was through the recognition of challenges that enabled us to navigate and solve any issues that arose.

My experience within this group assignment that was underpinned by teamwork has drastically prepared me for the future. It has provided me and the other members with valuable experiences that will prepare all team members for future teamwork. Through collaborative endeavours, we have developed essential skills such as effective communication, active listening, and adaptability, which will only improve in future group assignments. By taking part in this assignment, I have learnt important skills that promote teamwork. Additionally, an important aspect of teamwork is the ability to demonstrate leadership and accountability. I learnt that demonstrating leadership and accountability promotes the ability to be successful in when working as a team to achieve goals and be successful. Ultimately, the experiences I had during this assignment has enabled me to acknowledge what the important characteristics are whilst collaborating and coordinating as a team. This group assignment has also further developed my own skills that encourage successful teamwork like communication and accountability.

In conclusion there are multiple characteristics that enhance successful teamwork. Through the opportunity to be a part of the team in the completion of the assignment I have developed skills and learnt about teamwork in great depths.
