Case:

A 60-year-old lady presents to you with a diagnosis of osteoporosis. She has a past history of chronic asthma that has developed into chronic obstructive pulmonary disease for which she is being medically managed. She has also developed right anterior hip (groin) pain over the past 3 months, and would like an exercise program to stop the osteoporosis from progressing.

Task:

Describe the underlying pathophysiology and how this relates to the clinical signs and symptoms.

- Create a differential diagnosis list including tests to help with your differential diagnosis.

- Apply the principles of Evidence Based Practice (i.e., research literature/clinical guidelines, your clinical reasoning, and the patient's needs) to formulate a management plan, with reference to minimum of ten (10) appropriate peer reviewed, international journal articles.

- Outline the inter-professional team who should be involved in the management of this client, and the role of each team member according to their scope of practice.
