ASSESSMENT 1: INDIVIDUAL ASSESSMENT (40%)
An individual assignment equivalent to 1500 words (+/- 10%). It will address SILO 2 and 4.
SILO 2: Identify the implications of digitising health for health professionals working in the Australian Healthcare System, including technologies currently in use.
SILO 4: Identify the technological, clinical, social, legal, and ethical impacts of the digitisation of health care.
AIM: To explore how digitisation of health may impact a health professionals delivery of primary healthcare and the consumer-clinician relationship, and to investigate the impact of one type of digitisation of health for professionals from the following perspectives: technological, clinical, social, legal, and ethical.
End Product: An article presenting the case for why, or why not, the Health Service Provider should proceed with developing your product/service, based upon your survey feedback and the technological, clinical, social, legal, and ethical impacts of this technology.

You currently work for Rayleighs market research company which has been commissioned by a Health Service Provider to explore the views and experiences of health professionals and the general public to a range of new digital health technologies/services in order to inform the companys service provision priorities. That is, what services/technologies which will give the health service provider the best return (in terms of client numbers, service, and efficiencies). This is your last project prior to starting your career as a health professional. You must:
PART A (800 words)
Investigate the key technological, clinical, social, legal, and ethical issues for your chosen digital health technology (choose one: Robotics, Wearable Devices, The Internet, Telehealth, AI*) as background to collecting views on this technology. You must include research on the impacts of the chosen technology on your chosen discipline (or health professional) from technological, clinical, social, legal, and ethical perspectives.
PART B (500 words)
Design a survey with 10 questions and gather responses from 10 participants (minimum), analyse the results, integrate the results into your article for presentation to the Chief Executive Officer and the Board of your client (Health Service Provider). Your survey needs to cover the following areas;Demographics of the participants - limited to questions around sex/gender; age group; location (e.g. state, country, and rural or metro); and whether they work/have previously worked in the health field;DO NOT collect name, date of birth, specific age, address, phone number, post code, employment agencies, or any other identifiable information.
Participants understanding of the term digital health;Previous participant experience with a range of digital health technologies; and
Specific questions customised to the participants understanding, opinion and/or beliefs of the assigned digital product/service and its impact on the delivery of healthcare by professionals and the consumer-clinician relationship.
PART C (200 words)
Present a case for why, or why not, the Health Service Provider should proceed with developing this product/service, based upon your research on the technological, clinical, social, legal, and ethical impacts of this technology for your chosen discipline (or health professionals) and your survey results.
*Note: EHR and MyHR are not options because they have been covered extensively in the workshops and online.Mobile Apps are not options because they will be assessed in Assessment 2.
