Assessment 1: Project Proposal (Due 11/08/23)
This assessment is designed to support and prepare your learning within this unit of study. Choose an area of nursing practicewhere you would like to expand your current capabilities. The selected area of practice should be considered in relation to your scope of practice and planned career trajectory in the near future. In choosing an area of practice, nominate which of the following domains your chosen practice relates to:
direct clinical care
education (nurses)
support of service
It should beachievable within your current employment situation and have a realistic time framethat is achieved within the university semester (or near completion). The project proposal should address the following components in the template on the eLearning site.
Howthis area of nursing practice isexpandedfrom your current practice
Theevidenceyou will provide to support learning and actual expanded nursing practice
Justificationfor choosing this area of expanded practice
It is important that you choose an area of expanded practice that is relevant to you and genuinely expands nursing practice. This project proposal relates directly to the final assessment, which comprises the report of your expanded practice.

Assessment 2: Evidence for Expanded Practice (Due 08/09/23) -2500words
This assessment item will entail the collection of evidence to support the elements of your contract project. This will include a brief introduction to the topic area (a couple of sentences only, which areNOTincluded in the word count) to provide context for the selected evidence, followed by two key components:
Annotated bibliography:Six (6) references, each followed by an annotation (approx. 250 words each/1500 words total) and a short relevance statement (couple of sentences only e.g. 50 words each/400 words total).The reference itself isNOTincluded in this word count.- Each annotation should consist of abrief account of the article(primary research articles only) andshort analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of the research(methodological critique).- Each relevance statement should address therelevance of the article to your area of expanded practiceand provide an argument for the new skill and the potential benefits of your expanded practice for patients or health professionals.
Examination of how the subject of your chosen area of practice relates to your scope of practice and planned career trajectory in the near future. This component provides details of how you intend to incorporate the area of practice into developing your career and follows the annotations (approximately 600 words).
Assessment 3A: Project Progress Report (Due 25/09/23) 2 A4 pages max
This assessment is designed to keep you on track with your major project (assessment 3A/B) and provides an opportunity for you to take stock of what you have already accomplished, identify what still needs to be done, and recognise what challenges, if any, you may be experiencing in various aspects of your project. These components will all inform development of Assessment 3B. Yourwritten reportshould encompass the following aspects (dot points and brief descriptive sentences may be used):
A brief introduction to your chosen area of expanded practice and how you have gone about planning your learning.
A summary of key learnings/achievements so far in relation to your chosen area of expanded practice.
A brief overview of enablers and barriers you have encountered and how you have overcome/plan to overcome barriers
Examples of tools, mechanisms and/or resources you have used/are planning to use.
Examples of the evidence you have collected to date/are yet to collect that demonstrates completion of planned activities/tasks/ learning and achievements.

Assessment 3B: Project Report (Due 27/10/23)
This summative assessment is a comprehensive report of your chosen area of nursing practice. The practice report will be a collection of information and evidence that demonstrate your learning and achievement in relation to expanding your nursing practice capabilities.
Your report will be set out using the following sub-headings:
Introduction outline of the area of nursing practice.
Background what evidence supports this area of practice? This should include a critique of the evidence to demonstrate its veracity in relation to expanding your nursing practice.
Methods how did you go about conducting this project? What procedures, tools and materials were used.
Evidence- what activities supported your work, what evidence documents do you have to demonstrate completion of activities and tasks, and how is this evidence validated?
Discussion this section details your learning journey and is described in a summarised reflective journal format
Conclusion did you achieve what you intended? Comment on areas that need to be completed and how this will be conducted.
