Assessment Task Instructions

The assessment instructions have been designed to enable you to understand what is required to succeed in this assignment.

The aim of this assessment task is to develop a poster and short summary that identifies and links the following three (3) areas.

The clinical decision-making process

Patient safety

Students are required to complete the following steps.

Step 1. Develop a written summary that explains the links between the three (3) key areas stated above. (300 words +/- 10 %)

Step 2. Find resources in the support area about developing a poster in PowerPoint.

Step 3. Design your poster using the guidelines under format and structure below.

Step 4. Present the key points from your written summary in the form of a poster presentation. (300 words +/- 10 %)

To help you do this, imagine you are standing beside your poster, and you are asked to explain it to a colleague. Outline the main points, ensuring you make the links between research, decision-making and patient safety clear on your poster. You might like to use a flow chart or a mind map as illustrations. The set out and illustration of the poster is entirely up to you. Where applicable the information presented on your poster must be referenced.

Format and Structure

Your poster should be developed using PowerPoint (or Publisher if you prefer) and then saved as a .PDF file so that you can submit it with your explanation document to Canvas.

Your work (both poster and summary) must be referenced using APA 7th style. See the example poster to see how a reference list can be placed/ located on a poster.
