Starting a PAR Process
Adopt the role of a social worker or social work student in one of the following scenarios:
Option A: You are working in a domestic violence agency in Brisbane. Design a human services program to meet the needs of women and children from refugee backgrounds accessing a domestic violence refuge using a participatory action research (PAR) process.
Option B: The SWAHSS at QUT has been given funds to undertake a PAR project on the topic of Chat GPT usage in SWHS courses. Design a program to which seeks to meet the needs of students whilst maintaining graduate competencies.
Option C: You are a student on placement in an aged care home. Residents of the home report feeling bored and without any meaningful occupation. Design a program which meets the needs of residents without impacting on staff time.

Using the conventions of a research abstract as outlined in the lecture describe your research. Write your abstract as if you have completed a project and have some important findings to share. Draw on your knowledge from this unit as whole to put forward an abstract which an international audience will find robust, engaging and represents a significant contribution to social work knowledge.
