IMPACTS AND OUTCOMES
To encourage employees to increase their physical activity. Increase the number of employees who accumulate 150 to 300 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity each week by 15% within 12 months.
Physical activity targets are in line with the Physical activity and exercise guidelines for all Australians (The Department of Health 2021). Inform employees about the benefits of physical activity via a mandatory training course
Promote team and group activities that encourage physical activity. 60% of employees self-report meeting the physical activity guidelines.
This figure is in line with current community levels of physical activity in City of Horizon. (City of Horizon 2020). 75% of employees self-report meeting the guidelines.
A 15% increase the number of participants accumulating recommended levels of physical activity was achieved in a similar intervention (Smith, 2021). Monthly Numerical, percentage of employees attaining recommended levels of PA per week. Physical activity level of employees will be measured using the
Active Australia survey (Australian Institute of Health and Welfare 2021).
OUTPUTS
All employees to have completed a short training course on the importance of physical activity within 12 months.
Develop training course.
Promote the training course
Implement mandatory training course. 0% of employees have completed the course.
100% of employees completing the course.
This target is in line with the results of a similar project (Smith 2021). Quarterly Numerical, number of employees completing the course. Recording staff completion of the course on a spreadsheet.
