Thank you so much for your submission here of assignment two. I thought that your data cleaning strategy was solid, but there was room for a few tweaks. And overall, this is where sort of the feedback to improve this into a distinction bracket starts. So first and foremost, with that Excel spreadsheet, just making sure you apply the, um, you know, convert to table process.

I think it was maybe step six or seven in the lecture for week five. To allow the ID, name, hostname, neighborhood, room type, all of those headings in row 1 to become part of the table. allow them to be headings formatted as a table, um, and then start to work on cleaning up other parts of the data, applying some conditional formatting, using the text to column function for column I, and then, you know, placing your pivot table onto a new tab down the bottom and giving it some more meaning.

So what you focused on there was sum of price across each of these different locations, but it really lacked meaning because what sum of price does is it really just aggregates up. All of the entire home slash apartments for Yarra, for instance. And what it says that is that not so much that Yarra is a more expensive place to stay, but effectively there are just more Yarra rows in your data set.

And they've aggregated up to create a pretty large bar. So I would have loved to have seen you tweak that and maybe make it an average of price. That would have been more meaningful. And what you would have seen there is Frankston being the highest. Then with your dot point summary, expand, expand, expand, make that cleaner.

Um, and with your 200 word summary. Trying to avoid the dot points and making that a cohesive paragraph to work with would have also been really, handy.

nExploratory Analysis

Summary of data cleaning process:

There are few rows containing missing values. Firstly, deleted those rows.

Few cells in worksheet having border, removed border for these cells.

Multiple cells having different background colour. Removed all background colour and used one consistent white colour for background.

Few cells having value are in bold. Unbold all such a cell.

Used border for whole sheet.

Adjusted column border at once for all columns.

Multiple cells in worksheet contains value with mixed case (upper and lower). Converted all the character values to proper case.

Summary

The pivot table has been created using the clean data to address following: What is the Availability by Neighbourhood. This will help visualize the availability of properties throughout the year in different neighbourhoods.

The pivot table has been calculated using "Neighbourhood" in the rows and "Availability 365" in the values.

There are total 27 areas are reported where nearby hotels are identified.

There are total 22789 hotels are identified out of which 15888 are entire home and 6901 are private room.

Out of 27 locations 18 locations have entire homes are available and 21 locations where private rooms are available nearby.

Yarra is the area having most hotels are available nearby. From the created pivot table we xan see that 3914 Entire Home/Apt are available, 483 private rooms are available.

Along with yaara there are other locations for which maximum hotels are available nearby like Yarra Ranges, Port Philip, Melbourne, Frankston.

Maroondah is the area where least hotels are available. We can see that there are only 86 Entire Home/Apt are available with no availability of Private room,

Hobsons bay is the location where least number of hotels are available nearby.
