Google LLC, also just called Google, is one of the biggest and most powerful universal technology corporations globally. While pursuing their doctorates at Stanford University, Larry Page and Sergey Brin established the Google Company in 1998 as a private venture. After Google reached maturity in 2006, its founders moved the company's headquarters to Mountain View, California, USA (Google, 2024).
Google has achieved numerous significant milestones that have characterized its rapid growth and diversification, such as Google creating and acquiring a vast range of goods and services in addition to Google search. This comprises Android for smartphones and tablets, Gmail for emails, Google Maps for navigating, and Google Drive for cloud-based storage. Sundar Pichai joined the company in 2004 and ascended to the position of CEO in 2015 (Google, 2024).
Google, under Alphabet Inc., maintains its dominance in the technology sector with robust recent sales and revenue figures. In its latest financial report, Google reported revenues of approximately $256.74 billion for the fiscal year 2021. In 2022, Google recorded revenues of approximately $279.8 billion (Google Revenue 2002-2023 | Statista, 2024). Google has strong competitors in the technology industry. Microsoft's Bing is still its main rival in the search engine business. Facebook, the Meta Platform, is the main rival of Google in the market for digital advertising revenue. Google Cloud competes with Microsoft Azure in the cloud computing (Wankhede et al., 2020). I chose Google because it innovated cutting-edge technologies to influence worldwide technological breakthroughs for the future.
