A guide to the marking framework for this assignment
1st
The presentation perfectly addresses the perceived needs of the audience.
Slides are informative without being cluttered.
Good use of graphics (pictures, diagrams, graphs).
The work is concise and well edited.
The presentation demonstrates depth of understanding.
It is fully and well referenced.
The notes section does more than just reiterate what is on the main slide.
The student shows ability to critically evaluate and debate issues.
2:1
The presentation addresses the concerns of the target audience. However, the structure will not be as efficient as presentations gaining a first.
Slides will be clearly presented, but may contain a little too much information in places.
Graphics will fit the presentation.
Written work will be clearly set out, but could need a little editing (especially at the lower end of this grade band)
The student will show good understanding of the disorder and will go beyond description.
The student will demonstrate reading beyond the lecture notes.
Referencing will be correct and appropriate.
2:2
The presentation will cover the topic, but the reasons for including certain points will not always be relevant or clear.
There will be some attempt to use graphics, but this may not always be successful or effective (i.e. does not add to what is written on the slide).
The presentation may cover points which are unnecessary for the intended audience, or it may go into unnecessary detail.
The student will mainly be taking material from the lecture slides, and will show little evidence of further reading.
Information in the notes section will be largely descriptive with little attempt at evaluation.
References will be limited and may contain errors.
3rd
The slides will be very basic, and there will be little additional notes.
To pass the student must show a clear understanding of the developmental disorder and should have made at least one attempt to relate theory to practice.
