EEEN5123 PSCAD Line Protection Simulation: Relay Modifications and Fault Analysis

For the Line_Protection model in the ...PSCAD5.0ExamplesMulti-Instance Modules folder, do the following.

Part A: Choose 2 of the following 4 changes to implement.

• Apply a comparator-based mho element


• Apply a current angle-based phase selection element


• Single-pole tripping during SLG faults


• Change the pilot scheme to PUTT

Part B: Investigate 2 of the following 3 items.

• Find the resistive reach of the relay


• Apply an intermediate infeed path and show the effect on the relay operation


• Connect a parallel line between the two buses and show the impact on the relay operation and how this impact could be mitigated

Submit a single zip file that includes a pdf file and the necessary PSCAD simulation models.
