Group Poster Presentation on Health
Aims and Background
The objective of this presentation is for you to demonstrate your understanding of how health and related systems can work together to address a complex health issue. Health systems include services provided by health professionals that focus on treatment, rehabilitation, health promotion, and disease prevention. Health-related systems address the determinants of health and include housing, education, agriculture, industry, transport, communication and technology, and the legal system etc.
Instructions:
PART A
Topic: How do health and related systems* work together to address complex health issues?
Note :The focus of HEA10001 is on Australia, however you may include comparisons to health and related systems in another country if you provide a strong justification.
1. Your group (4-5 students) will need to choose a health issue that interests you.
2. Prepare a poster using PowerPoint to present your findings. Your poster must include:
- A title
- Authors
The following sections:
- Health issue
- Determinants of health issue
- Health systems
- Health-related systems
- It might help to consider what a patients journey from symptom development, diagnosis, treatment, to recovery might be, and what health and health related systems and professionals might be involved in this trajectory

PART B:
Using the STAR format, each student will individually write a summary of how you worked cooperatively and collaboratively with others in your group, to achieve the common goal or outcome (i.e. the group poster)
- Situation- describe the nature of the project, its purpose, who was involved, and why it was important.
- Task- describe your specific responsibilities and what you needed to achieve.
- Action-Explain how you approached the project, the steps you took to implement the project and how you overcame obstacles using your experience, skills, and resources.
- Results-Share the results including the specific benefits and impact.
Write a reflection on the following:
- How effective was your group overall? Explain your answer.
- What were your strengths as a group member?
- What can you do to further develop your ability to work in a group?
