Healthy Ageing Assessment
Assessment task 1 is made up of three components: Part A, Part B and Part C.
To complete the assessment you will need to submit three 250 word pieces, one for each component of the assessment. You will address a different topic for each component.
Part A: Healthy Ageing (5%)
As we enter the United Nations Decade of Healthy Ageing (2021-2030) the mayor of your community has been asked to talk to a local group about the importance of healthy ageing. Please prepare a 250-word summary (word doc) to brief the mayor on this topic. Use the following headings:
- What is healthy ageing?
- Why is it important?
- What is the call to action?
Use three references (formatted in APA 7th)
Part B: Age-Friendly Environments (5%)
Review the WHO Age-friendly cities model (Go to The WHO Age-friendly Cities Framework - Age-Friendly World. Links to an external site.Choose any two of the eight dimensions to explore, relate these to your local community, identify a gap and state why it is important to address: Prepare 2 slides as a PowerPoint presentation (you can use up to 2 slides for each of the sections below if needed).
- Section 1: Dimension 1 (e.g., Transportation) - What is the key gap? Why is it important to address? (100-125 words/1-2 slides maximum)
- Section 2: Dimension 2 (e.g., Housing) - What is the key gap? Why is it important to address? (100-125 words/1-2 slides maximum)
Use three references (formatted in APA 7th).
Part C: Ageism (5%)
Please write a letter to the editor expressing your opinion about Are some lives less equal than others? (theage.com.au)Links to an external site. (250 words in word doc). There are no right or wrong answers.
