HEC306 Health Education and Communication:Demonstration of Health Intervention Assesment
Assessment Task
Imagining that your peers represent the target audience of your health topic, deliver the intervention outlined in your Assessment 2 Health Communication Plan via a class presentation. You will be allocated up to 30 minutes during class time for this task.
Please refer to the Instructions for details on how to complete this task.
Context
Effective communication skills are essential for health professionals working with individuals, community groups and organisations where the health messages delivered need to effect behaviour change. This assessment aims to enhance your verbal and digital communication skills by requiring you to present to your peers, who will represent the target audience of your intervention. This HEC306_Assessment_3 Page 2 of 7 supportive environment will enhance your ability to feel comfortable when communicating health messages to groups of people in various settings.
These skills are relevant to health professionals in the public health arena as they are expected to translate complex health-related concepts from scientific literature in a manner that is accessible and appropriate to the audience, culturally sensitive and ethical. At the same time, health professionals need to deliver this information in a way that will engage the audience, inspire motivation to action and build knowledge that creates empowerment in individuals and communities for sustained, equitable health outcomes
