Plan And Gather Information Project

Part 1: Research-based – Literature reviews

To complete this assessment students must select two of the following topics that are relevant to their professional context and work practices:

• health informatics
• social determinants of health
• patient/person-centred care

For each topic students must then:

1. Gather at least three credible sources of information on the topic and explain how they did this by completing Task 1.
2. Analyse the information gathered and present their findings by completing Task 2.
3. Provide a reference list of the resources used, in the APA referencing style.

Subheadings and sections have been provided to help keep the reviews on track. Once completed, submit this assessment to your Teacher/Assessor for marking.

Topic 1

Task 1: Plan and gather information

Address each of the following criteria for the first topic. Each answer should be approximately 100 words. Ensure at least one of the information sources should be one you have found and is in addition to the list provided.

1. Introduce the topic you have chosen and identify how researching the literature in this area may support and improve your work practices.
   Topic 1: Health informatics
   This area encompasses integration of technology with healthcare that enhances patient’s health and care processes. As a nurse, health informatics elevates practices and modern healthcare landscape and technology plays a vital role in patient care such as electronic health records, telemedicine and other. Exploring the field helps to understand patient needs and advancements in patient safety. I gather information from the National Health and Medical Research Council. and Australian Nursing & Midwifery Journal for nursing practicies.
2. Provide a clear statement defining the research objectives of your literature review.
   The literature review objectives will help to explore current health trends in health informatics and impact on current practices to integrate effectively and improved patient care and healthcare outcomes.
3. Describe the methods you used to systematically gather information for your literature review and provide a rationale for why these were appropriate.
   Systematic database researchers with the keywords like ‘ health informatics’, ‘nursing practices and ‘ technology integration’ ensured coverage with relevant literature. The keywords structures searches and facilitate retrieval to peer-reviewed articles and reputable sources to enhances credibility and relevance.
4. Describe at least three credible sources of data and information you accessed for your literature review- of which one is a resource you have found.
   Journal of Healthcare informatics research evolves with the role of informatics in healthcares, I also explored a report from ‘ National Health and Medical Research council’ that provides guidelines to ethical health utilization. I also discovered insightful article from the source and highlights its impact of technology on patient-centered care.
5. Explain how you determined whether the information you gathered was relevant to your chosen topic and research objectives.
   I assessed informative relevance and aligning with the content and key aspects to focus on health informatics and nursing practices with technology integration. I also focus on sources to impact information on patient care. Electronic health records help in data security and ensure information to address research objectives on the topic.
6. Describe how you organised the data and information you gathered in a way that helped you to use it in your literature review.
   I gather data and organize them into subtopics like ‘ Electronic Health Records’, ‘ ‘Telemedicine and data security’. These helps to facilitate seamless incorporation with relevant information access to different sections to my literature review and ensures coherent presentation of ideas.
7. Describe how you prioritised which sources of data and information to discuss in your literature review.
   I also prioritise sources on relevance, credibility and alignment with research objectives. I also selected comprehensive offerings and health informatics can impacted on nursing practices and patient care centered with technological integration that ensures literature review and focuses on substantial information.
