The points to include are:

-Briefly introduce what you will cover in your summary and state the name of the YouTube clip or poster along with an intext reference

-Summarize the YouTube clip or poster.

-Identify and justify the social determinant(s) of health it is designed to address.

-Explain the way(s) in which it addresses the social determinant(s) of health. -Ensure you refer to all relevant key elements (e.g., image, statistics).

VIDEO: Couch Surfing - Youth Homelessness Matters Day 2018

-Briefly introduce what you will cover in your summary and state the name of the YouTube clip or poster along with an intext reference

-This report aims to summarise the YouTube video Couch Surfing Youth Homelessness Matters Day 2018 (Danila Dilba Health Service, 2018) created by the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (ACCHO), Danila Dilba.

-what an ACCHO is, why they were started eg to tackle the gap - Briefly explain how indigenous Australians health differs to the rest of the population- health inequalities.

-Danila Dilba is an ACCHO aiming to provide primary health care and community services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples in Darwin, Northern Territory.

-As well as summarising the video, this report will also identify and justify the social determinants of health that the video addresses and explain how it addresses them.

-Summarize the YouTube clip or poster.

The video, Couch Surfing Youth Homelessness Matters Day 2018, depicts the Couch Surfing event where Danila Dilba and Malak Re-engagement Centre staff and students were encouraged to enter a couch to race in the events, aiming to spread awareness about youth homelessness in the Northern Territory. Community members, schools and local services came together to discuss action against youth homelessness and offer support to young people who might find themselves homeless.

List who appears in the video ; Olive Annichiarico, Darwin Lord Mayor, Peter Macmillan, Tracey Thompson. Maybe some quotes, or what each person discussed?

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People are over-represented in the homeless population of Australia, and 4 in 10 Indigenous homeless people are aged 18 and younger (Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, 2014). Peter Macmillan from NT Shelter states that the Northern Territory makes up 15% of total youth homelessness nationwide, and only receives 1% of total Commonwealth government funding to tackle homelessness (Danila Dilba Health Service, 2018).

Identify and justify the social determinant(s) of health it is designed to address.

Danila Dilbas vision is a society in which the health, wellbeing and quality of life of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples is equal to that of non-Indigenous Australians. As Danila Dilba provides comprehensive health care and community service, they understand that people need to be looked at holistically. Therefore, homelessness is connected to a vast range of other issues. The video addresses the social determinant of housing and basic amenities first and foremost, however also touches on income and social protecting, unemployment, social inclusion and non-discrimination, and even education.

Discuss Housing and basic amenities further and how its related to the other social determinants mentioned above

Reword and find original source? CUT AND PASTED - Evidence also supports a direct association between poor-quality housing and poor physical and mental health (Baker et al. 2016) Social determinants of health - Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (aihw.gov.au) Baker E, Lester LH, Bentley R and Beer A (2016) Poor housing quality: prevalence and health effects, Journal of Prevention & Intervention in the Community, 44:219232, doi:10.1080/10852352.2016.1197714- external site opens in new window

Explain the way(s) in which it addresses the social determinant(s) of health. Ensure you refer to all relevant key elements (e.g., image, statistics).

The main aim of the video is to raise awareness and educate the community.

Explain the lack of funding with more awareness they may receive more funding 1% of funding, 15% of the problem

More people will know about danila dilba or other ACCHOs which could help with other issues that are connected to homelessness

Conclusion

Through organising the Couch Surfing event, and creating the video this report discusses, the ACCHO, Danila Dilba, has helped to raise awareness about the lack of housing and basic amenities that too many young Indigenous Australians are faced with in Darwin. By raising awareness and educating the community on the issues that can lead to youth homelessness, the overall health of Indigenous Australians can be improved.
