IntroductionThe topic for the assignment is the travel review of Sydney in Australia. The purpose of the assignment is to provide a detailed review of the visiting place and the attractions of the smart city. The review also talks about the issues that have been faced by tourists while traveling to the city. Tourism review aims to show the current hotspots as well as useful in attracting newer customers to the place. The services provided by the hotels and the other facilities can also be improved with the help of tourism reviews. The structure of the assignment includes detailed information about the destination and the issues faced within the area for the travelers. Lastly, a conclusion has been given to brief up the important points.
Background to the destinationSydney is presently one of the most highly prized cities in the world. It was incorporated in 1788. Sydney, the largest city in Australia, is situated on the country's southeast coast and, because to its magnificent harbor and favorable location, is one of the most important ports in the South Pacific. The Sydney Harbor Bridge, one of the longest steel-arch bridges in the world, defines the city, which is built on low hills surrounding a huge harbor with many bays and inlets. Sydney also has Opera House, with its sparkling white shell-shaped roofs, which seem to mirror the sails of the numerous yachts in the nearby harbor (Bubelny & Kubina, 2021). Whether it is day or night, the complex maze of buildings and water is mesmerizing. The Harbor Bridge and the Opera House are the main attraction of the city. The Harbor City is the ideal vacation spot for people looking to enjoy time on the sand and the sea due to its expansive sandy beaches and beautiful cruises (Gavin, 2022). Royal Botanical Gardens, Sydney Tower, the beaches, Sydney Mardi Gras, and Luna Parkare just a few other attractionsof the Sydney. The trains, ferries, light rail buses these are the transport network of Sydney.
IssuesThe smart city issue that is going to be researched is the transport issues present within the destination. As Sydney can be considered a busy metropolitan city, there are some issues with transport and mobility in the city (Hastings, 2021). I feel that the population is much higher in the city, and the roads are congested which can lead to overcrowded buses and trains. While visiting the city I encountered some problems with the transport. Along with that, the trains are too wide so they are not able to fit in the tunnels of the Blue Mountain line which has resulted in the frequent changing of the routes which are time-consuming and hectic for travelers. Public transport is considered the best for traveling even for tourists. In the event of bad weather, the delaying of the trains and the buses are evident and are seen as a normal consequence for the local people (Medium, 2021). However, this posed a problem for me as this disrupted my routine of travel to other locations. The bus and the train service is limited and no new trains and buses have been introduced which will secure the transport facilities. I feel that, as the city has a low density in the terms of the non-design of the area as a car-dominant city, the development of a dense rail network is not possible. This has made travelers restrict free movement from one destination to other and the traffic jams have resulted in delays in reaching their desired place. I faced a similar situation which was impacted by travel structure and routine. Apart from that, another problem faced by tourists is the payment system. The visitors have to use an online payment method or contactless payment method which is not possible for many tourists. This has also decreased the accessibility to travelers.
The reviewing of the transport issue in Sydney is important because without a good medium of transport the movement of tourists will not be possible. Public transport is the most common form of transport available within the city and the correct usage and facilities should be taken up which will help in the smoother movement of the travelers (Warrane, 2022). The topic is also important because, with a good knowledge of the transport backlog within the city, travelers can plan their routes and be aware of the situation while visiting the place.
Conclusion
It can be concluded that the tourism review is an important part of travel. The destination that has been chosen for the assignment is Sydney. Several transport and mobility problems within the city will bar travelers from smooth travel. The main purpose of the review is to create awareness among travelers so that they can plan ahead if they are visiting a metropolitan city. The alternate payment option for the transport system can also be considered by travelers.
