I have had some good questions for clarification around writing for assignment 2 that I will share with all of you.
I have had some good questions for clarification around writing for assignment 2 that I will share with all of you.
Are header questions included in the word count?
Do we list references after each topic?
The header key questions are not included in the word count, and yes, please list your references after each section. Please use UniSA Harvard Referencing for in-text and reference lists. Please see below from the Course Outline.
The journal will consist of4 total responses, comprised of;
Three responses of 350 wordseach to your choice from the Social Realities themes (topics 5 -9),ANDOne 750 word response to the final topic.
The final response is intended asa way to integrate your learningfrom all topics and demonstrate how you are working to meet the relevant Teaching Standards based on your work in this course.
1,800 words.
The following are very important criteria. Please note them carefully.1. Scaffolding questions and information will be provided for each question. They are intended as prompts for thinking and you should not directly answer each question in a lock step fashion
2. Your responses will need to be very succinct and should include reference to key ideas in the required readings for the topic. You may want to include other references as well but make sure that if you do the reference is meaningful. You will not gain higher marks simply for more references it is about how they are used.
3. Formatting:a) Do not use direct quotes or dot points.b) Use the UniSA Harvard author-date referencing system.c) Include your references at the end of each topic response. (References are not included in the word count) d) There is a leeway of 10 % + or - in the total word limit.e) Format must be 12 pt font, 1.5 or double line spacingf) Include the journal question as a heading to each response, e.g. Topic 6: How has the institution of education responded to the needs of learners from refugee backgrounds?h) Each page should include a footer with your name and page number.
Can we write in the first person?
Writing in the first person is absolutely okay!
Did week 10 include any extra information to support writing assignment 2?
Did you cover more information about how to use AITSL standards in assignment 2?
The zoom link for week 10 is in the forum. I forgot to edit the heading for the Responses - it is in my discussion for this section. I have edited that now to make it easier for all to see. I am attaching the Topic10 ppt for ease of access.
The PowerPoint and zoom did go over some ideas for writing for the key questions. I also gave some examples of how to use the AITSL standards to support your responses. Essentially, you are not writing to the AITSL standards but about the learning you have gained, and how these relate to the AITSL standards. So do not unpack the AITSL standards, but certainly refer to them. For example, you can simply include the appropriate standard e.g. (AITSL, 2017,1.3) as a reference in your writing as you talk about how aspects of the course have supported your professional knowledge about students with diverse linguistic, cultural, religious and socio-economic backgrounds. You are encouraged to refer to all topics in the final topic.
Please see the Assignment 2 Journal Questions scaffolding document attached. This is a support only, you are not required to use all, or any of the scaffolding questions provided. They are suggestions to help kick start your writing if you feel that you need this.
As an extra note, if you are behind in completing topic weekly tasks please continue to do this as you are able - I will accept these for the 2 weeks after assignment 2 is submitted. Please contact me if you feel that you have extenuating circumstances, as I need to remind you that there is an assessment hurdle attached to this Course with and expectation that you complete 8/10 topics at minimum. See below from the Course Outline.
A Assessment 'hurdle' requirements
