Individual Assignment
This is not a group assignment. It is an individual assignment to be completed by yourself
In this assignment you create a Personal Learning Portfolio (PLP)
The PLP consists of 5 Portfolio Entries, with a maximum of 1000 words each
To do this you will need to engage in:
Reflection based on your own experience, capabilities and intentions
Collaboration compare your experiences with colleagues, friends and mentors
Information use your existing knowledge to research further into topics
The Personal Learning Portfolio will need to demonstrate how you have:
Examined and assessed the intended and unintended impacts on diverse stakeholders
Provided professional opinions or interpretations of project management matters applying ethical principles, codes of conduct and values
Conceptualised problems or situations (investigate, analyse, synthesize and evaluate)
Demonstrated an ability to reflect on your own individual leadership performance within a project team
Portfolio Entry 1:
Pen portrait: this is not intended to be a specific format, it is an informal description of yourself which will give the reader an overview of who you are as a project leader. This is a self-assessment.
"as seen from another persons perspective". Here you can leverage off the learnings from the group assignment, where each member had to work out what leadership skills they had, and then as a team you worked out which team-role best suited each person. Did those discussions reveal anything about whether they agree with your self-assessment?
Also, you would have worked with other groups on assignments before are there perhaps some clues about how others see your role? were there perhaps occasions where they were happy to follow your lead? or maybe they suggested that you should take the lead in a certain role in the group assignment? and do those group experiences tie in with your self-assessment?
Portfolio Entry 2:
In its most basic form, this asks: "how do project managers (leaders) get people to do things?".
Portfolio Entry 3:
This again builds upon, and extends, the learnings and techniques used in the group assignment.
Portfolio Entry 4:
This integrates your self-knowledge by applying it to your own experiences of ethical dilemmas. Looking back, what did you get right, and where could you improve? What advice would you give to yourself?
Portfolio Entry 5:
This asks you to plan out a system that will embed reflective practice as a "good habit" among the team members in future projects that you get to manage and lead.
Referencing: Most of these entries include your personal experiences, but in answering the questions there are many theories and frameworks in the text (and elsewhere) that could be integrated to support your response. Using academic references to show how your views and experiences align with these models will help to elevate a personal opinion (experience), to the level of a proper academic argument.
