Your task

Individually, record a 5-minute video in which you must describe the private health care sector in Australia, discuss how it works as part of a mixed model, and analyse its viability. Please note that you will be required to show your face throughout the presentation.

Assessment Description

The purpose of this individual assessment is enable you to start developing an understanding of the Australian health care system and in particular the private health care sector under a mixed model of public and private health care.

Assessment Instructions

The Australian health care sector is based on the principle that all its citizens and permanent residents have universal and equal access to medical services. The system is based on a mixed model of public and private sectors, and today it is estimated that approximately 50% of the Australian population have private health care.

Your presentation should be 5 minutes long and contain no more than 10 slides that assist in understanding the findings presented.

Areas covered should include:

• An Introduction that is engaging and captures your audience.
• A brief overview of the mixed model of health care in Australia.
• A clear articulation to the benefits for consumers purchasing private health care.
• Discussion on the various options consumers have when opting for private health care.
• Critical analysis and diagnosis if the current private health care sector is a “wicked” problem for the Australian Government.
• A conclusion.

You are required to use at least 8 sources of information and reference these in accordance with the Kaplan Harvard Referencing Style.
