ASSESSMENT OVERVIEW

PURPOSE

The purpose of this assessment task is to:

Thisprovidesanopportunity to apply and develop mental health, theoretical andclinical knowledge and skills. Theevidence record?requires that you reflect onthe allocatedclinicalscenario and further developyourskills and knowledge inhow to conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and enhance medication knowledge for people diagnosedwith anxiety, mood and psychotic disorders. The assessment frameworks that are described in this unit support recovery-oriented and trauma-informed care. This assessment enables you to record your learning and curate a series of artefacts that will form anPortfolioof evidenceof your learning in this unit. Thisevidence record can be utilised for future unitswhere mental health is emphasised and can be provided as an addition to your resume.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

  1. Review how the regulatory frameworks, standards and codes of practice and ethics, and government policies guide the safe delivery of evidence based person-centred mental healthcare;
  2. Articulate knowledge and skills in psychiatric assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation and documentation of care to formulate nursing management of people with selected mental health conditions across the lifespan using digitalhealth;
  3. Appraise population health and nursing-related theories of mental distress to examine mental illness across thelifespan;
