Fall 2023

Essay

This has implications for what we can say we know and how we view the world. Write an essay that critically evaluates different understandings of social construction and draw out the implications of these understandings for the way we can know the world, highlighting in particular standpoint theorizing and border thinking.

Or

Standpoint theorists fundamentally question the notion of scientific objectivity because they insist that knowledge is based on the different experiences of knowers. Write an essay that explains standpoint theorizing and provide a critique that takes into consideration diverse theories of identity, intersectionality, and decoloniality.
