Executive SummaryThis report highlights the activities that were executed while performing the internship at Oman Cement Company (OCC). Oman Cement CompanyOman Cement Company (OCC) was developed in 1983, and it laid the foundation of self-reliance of the state in basic industries. The company has achieved ISO 9001 certification for the quality management system through its manufacturing facility operations. It also got the certification of ISO 14001 for the environment, which made the products capable of meeting the global standard of quality and performance. In 1978, Oman Cement Company SAOG (OCC) came into existence because of the renaissance started by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said. A cement plant was deployed in 1983, and it had an annual clinker capacity of 600,000 MTS which was further extended to 1.2 million tons annually by 1998, enabling the company for the cement production of 1.26 million tons. In addition, a cement grinding mill having 3000 MTS per day capacity was installed in the year 2006. The company uses computerized systems for handling the production through the experienced and qualified team. The firm has a total production capacity of 2.4 million MTs cement. Identification of both long term and medium-term maintenance strategies and action plans for the equipment.
Engage in the equipment of the plant to achieve a high level of performance.
Inspection of the equipment of the plant at first as well as the first level under different conditions such as running and stoppage.
Formalize the inspection and analysis reports for further actions.
Perform close coordination with the production team for getting feedback about the operations of the equipment. The data regarding the equipment availability was also collected for performing the maintenance inspection while keeping in mind the production constraints.

The follow up of the precautionary measures and standards can assist in the completion of tasks on time without having to bear any type of losses.

It is essential that all the systems are tested and maintained regularly so that the production line is not affected. The potential of the systems should be identified so that system failure can be avoided. The industry is giving significant importance to sustainable solutions to meet the requirements of the customers.

2 Different departments were visited, and interns were placed in their corresponding departments. This week an overview of different operations of the company was taken, and I was appointed in the technical department.
The operational overview helped in understanding the true reflection of the business of the company.

3 In this week, different workshops regarding workplace safety were arranged. During this week, different health and environment safety workshops were arranged.

6 In this week cement kiln was focused upon to learn about the operation. During the week operation of the cement kiln was explored and practiced.
The operation of a kiln is essential in the manufacturing of cement, due to which it was essential to learn about its operation.
It was learnt that there are two types of kilns that are rotatory and shaft.
The knowledge gained regarding the operation and kinds of kilns will be used for future work.
7 During this week operation of the cement grinding mill was analysed. The grinding mill was analysed this week, and hands-on experience was gained.
The grinding mill is a widely used component of cement processing, due to which it is essential to know about its operation.
The cement grinding machine is used for both dry and wet cement and has different types.

There are different activities that are involved in the maintenance of the plant, starting from the analysis of the potential issues.

11 In this week, an audit of the plant was scheduled, and different activities were performed. An audit of the plant was carried out in which equipment and different machinery were analysed.
The audit activity is a major activity that is performed at an industrial scale by different departments for quality assurance.
It was observed that the complete record of the equipment was maintained and delivered during the audit, and non-compliance was added to the improvement plan.

12 This was the last week of the internship and dealt with different reporting and presentation phases. The last week of the internship required the submission of the report regarding the performed activities.
In industry, it is essential to have technical as well as non-technical knowledge to be a complete professional.
It was observed that in companies, a certain template is followed for reports and presentations in the companies.
The improvement and development of both verbal and non-verbal communications skills can be fruitful for future jobs.
