The entrepreneur : "Dr. Dre" Digital presentation of 8-12 slides (8-10minutes), a 600-800 word script Project reflections:

(1) mid-project reflection with at least one scholarly reference included and

(2) project-completion reflection, with a minimum of 250 words for each.

Steps to Follow:

1. Information Gathering: Choose an entrepreneur that inspires you from the list below or you may choose your own (with approval from your facilitator). Investigate the work of this entrepreneur. Document at least five credible referenced information sources in your investigation. Use in-text citations with an APA7 reference list. Dr Dre - Producer

2. Written Script: Write up the results of your investigations (600-800 words) focusing on: The creative idea/concept and what the entrepreneur developed. Why are they entrepreneurial in their field? Who the audience was and who might have been excluded from the audience. What risks and/or challenges the entrepreneur faced and how they overcame them. Use the class readings and explain how the entrepreneur engaged with any of the discovery skills: Questioning, observing, networking, experimenting & associational thinking. What you find inspiring or interesting about this entrepreneur and their creative work or business. Describe the current state or legacy of their product, business, or creative work. Consider and explain how their innovation has inspired others. Outline any ethical considerations of their work - societal, industry or personal.

3. Checkpoint: Bring your rough notes for your mid-project reflection to class.

  • In class, you will discuss and complete your mid-project reflection.
  • Include the mid-project reflection with your project submission.
  • In 250 words, answer each of the questions with examples from your project:

Process:

  • How are you planning your processes to achieve outcomes within the project timeframe?
  • How are you managing your priorities and tasks and responding to changes or challenges?
  • Give specific examples of your research and how it informs your project. Cite sources in APA7.

Person:

  • What communication skills does this project require, and how are you responding to feedback and giving feedback to others?
  • For group projects, how are you working to enhance communication and active collaboration?

Proficiency:

  • What skills, techniques, knowledge, or technologies are you using to achieve project requirements?

Give examples analysing the strengths and limitations of work in your field and reflecting on the skills, knowledge and research relevant to your project. References: Use a minimum of 1 in-text citation, referenced using APA7.

4. Digital presentation: Submit your work in a digital presentation (slidedeck or video production) containing:

Key highlights of the written information:

  • the core entrepreneurial concepts;
  • A slide deck of 8-12 slides describing the entrepreneur and providing an overview of their work;
  • A voiceover or video including narration of the full written content from step 2;
  • Images and video (if appropriate) to show the entrepreneur's work;
  • References for all written, audio, and video material.

Project References: Include references during your presentation, and a correctly formatted reference list at the end of your slides, for all written, audio, and visual material.

5. Checkpoint: Create your project-completion reflection. In 250 words, answer each of the questions with examples from your project: Appraisal: Overall, how successful was your project? What worked or didn't work, and why? How did it match with your expectations? Give specific examples, screenshots or links. Challenges: What obstacles did you overcome and how? What lessons did you learn?

Deliverables:

What to Submit Written script saved in Google drive and uploaded to Project 1 submission tab on Campus Online. Final presentation as an .mp4, .m4v, or .mov file, saved in Google drive and uploaded to Project 1 submission tab on Campus Online.
