Assessment Requirements

This assessment requires each student to develop a project idea of interest to them. The interest in the project could have been derived from prior studies, experience or exposure. It is expected that this one project will be used as the basis for study throughout the whole Project Management Professional Practice course.

In conceptualising your project thought needs to be given to its type, size and industry context to ensure that it is appropriate for continued study throughout the course. The lecturer will assist you in developing your project so that it is adequate for your studies.

From this point, each student will be asked to format and execute a well-developed Project Charter. It will essentially be a proposal that outlines the fundamental objectives and requirements of each student's project. The weekly classes will provide students with what is expected to be included within their Project Charter. The Project Charter is intended to start the process that leads to preparing the Project Management Plan (i.e. Assessment 3). Students must gain lecturer approval on their Project Charter prior to commencing their Project Management Plan.

The Project Charter assessment will contribute a weighting of 20% to the overall course grade and it should be 2000 words in length (excluding any references)

The following criteria should be adhered to by students to ensure assessment requirements are met.

  1. The project concept is well outlined and explained.
  2. Key elements of the project charter are succinctly stated.
  3. The document is well-formatted and easy to understand.

The due date for the Project Charter isMonday7th April2025. It is to be submitted online via the MyUni.

Provide an Assignment Cover Sheet at the front of your submission.
