How to go about this assessment

The best way to approach this assignment is to start with an initial literature search around your topic. This would involve putting key words and synonyms into data bases via the Library. You will then be able to source a wide variety of published literature including Journal articles related to your topic. If you are unsure about how to go about literature searching using the Library data base[s] then there are on line resources that you can access via the Library web pages including drop in session on literature searching.

We would recommend that you use the headings above in your essay as this will help you to focus on the key sections and will help the reader to understand the information being presented. Please read and follow the programme guidance for academic referencing in both your information sheet and your formative assessment.

Formative Assessment: Seminar Presentation

Date: TBC you will be allocated a date/time during week one

You will give a short [5 mins] seminar presentation to the class on the research and wider reading that you have conducted for your information sheet so far. We would recommend that you use Powerpoint or similar to help you to organise your presentation. This should follow the structure of the information sheet above but also have a final slide with your reference list [6 slides in total]

How will I get feedback?

Your facilitator will give you verbal feedback after your presentation. You will have the opportunity to ask questions about your assessment during this class
