My placement will be at a leading dermatology clinic, Sky Blue Dermatology. The clinic aims for customer and employee satisfaction. I will be provided the opportunity to engage in different organisational psychology and human resources tasks. At SkyBlue, I will work closely with the practice manager to investigate and improve employees' well-being and increase workplace efficiency. This task ensures employees and clients have a positive and productive work environment. During my placement, my first goal will be to improve my understanding and comprehension of how diverse work dynamics, environments, work-life balance, and well-being affect employees and workplace efficiency. Using my knowledge of organisation psychology and social psychology from my studies, I can put my theoretical knowledge into real-world scenarios and practice by understanding how the work environments and work-life balances affect employee well-being and workplace practice and how this can be improved. For my second goal, I am determined to enhance my communication skills, particularly my verbal communication and active listening skills with colleagues. Tasks such as planning, conducting surveys and interviews with employees, and actively participating in team meetings will enable me to achieve my second goal. My last goal aims to help me focus on improving my interpersonal skills and teamwork abilities. I intend to accomplish this by actively participating and contributing to workplace projects and meetings in a culturally appropriate manner and recognising and respecting individual differences during my placement and when interacting with employees and clients. To improve my interpersonal skills, I will be undertaking tasks such as conducting surveys with employees, analysing and discussing policies with my supervisor and taking initiative when provided the opportunity. To measure my success during my placement, I aim to seek feedback from employees and my supervisor to make sure I am improving and achieving my goals. By reflecting on this feedback in a journal, I can measure and analyse my improvement. During my placement, I will adhere to SkyBlue's workplace policies and ethical standards by maintaining integrity and confidentiality.
