Assessment Task 1: Photographic Report
1.1 You are required to take photographs of the waste management practices and processes on two different residential construction sites to observe how the Contractors have managed building waste. Comment on the following for each site, using photographs for each example;Is construction waste separated into recycling skips and land-fill skips
Where are materials that have been salvaged from existing buildings stored
Are waste materials strewn around the building site.1.2 Briefly discuss if the Contractors are following industry accepted and/or local Council prescribed waste management practices.
Assessment Task 2: Operational Waste Management Plan
You are proposing to add an Upper Floor addition to the house that you are using in Use building science principles to construct energy efficient buildings.
You are required to submit an Operational Waste Management Plan. You can use the template you were given in class as the basis for the Plan.
The specification for the Upper Floor addition:
External walls painted rendered brick veneer
Internal walls timber frame
Internal linings plasterboard for all areas except wet areas which are using fibre cement
Floor finishes carpet for all areas except wet areas which are using tiles
You can choose all other finishes
