Criteria 2 Body
Student provides a rationale/explanation as to why their contribution is important for promoting health in this cohort (supported by evidence-based literature)
Student provides an excellent rationale/ explanation as to why their contribution is important for promoting health and preventing disease in this cohort (supported by evidence-based) Student provides a very good rationale/ explanation as to why their contribution is important for promoting health and preventing disease in this cohort (supported by evidence-based) Student provides a good rationale/ explanation as to why their contribution is important for promoting health and preventing disease in this cohort (supported by evidence-based) Student provides a fair rationale/ explanation as to why their contribution is important for promoting health and preventing disease in this cohort. However, this is basic and/or could be analysed in more detail or with better rationales/explanation. There is support from evidence-based literature, but more references or better use of the literature would improve the discussion.
Student provides a poor or inadequate rationale/explanation as to why their contribution is important for promoting health and preventing disease in this cohort. There is insufficient support from evidence-based literature to meet the required academic standard. /15
Criteria 3 Body
Analyses how their contribution to the health plan demonstrates two primary health care principles and explains why the digital platform selected was the best digital approach to target this cohort. (supported by evidence-based literature) Excellent analysis of how their contribution to the health promotion plan demonstrates two primary health care principles and clearly explained why the digital platform selected was the best digital approach to target the selected cohort. (supported by evidence-based literature) Very good analysis of how their contribution to the health promotion plan demonstrates two primary health care principles and clearly explained why the digital platform selected was the best digital approach to target the selected cohort. (supported by evidence-based literature) Good analysis of how their contribution to the health promotion plan demonstrates two primary health care principles and explained why the digital platform selected was the best digital approach to target the selected cohort. (supported by evidence-based literature) Fair analysis of how their contribution to the health promotion plan demonstrates two primary health care principles, but more in-depth discussion would demonstrate greater understanding. Offered a discussion about the selected digital platform, but the discussion was basic and could include greater detail. There is support from evidence-based literature, but more references and better use of the literature would improve the paper. Poor or inadequate analysis of how their contribution to the health promotion plan demonstrates two primary health care principles which shows poor or little understanding. The selected digital platform was mentioned, but discussion did not address the question or was poorly articulated. There is insufficient support from evidence-based literature to meet the required academic standard /15
Criteria 5 Conclusion
Coherently synthesises ideas to make conclusions relating to the topic and the literature reviewed
Excellent conclusion that demonstrates the ability to synthesise ideas to make conclusions relating to the topic and the literature reviewed Very good conclusion that demonstrates the ability to synthesise ideas to make conclusions relating to the topic and the literature reviewed Good conclusion that demonstrates the ability to synthesise ideas to make conclusions relating to the topic and the literature reviewed Fair conclusion, but provides a basic summary, rather than make conclusions related to the topic and the literature reviewed Conclusion fails to clearly provide a relevant summary and does not draw any particular conclusions related to the topic or literature reviewed /10
Criteria 6 Academic standard
Paper is written according to academic standards (spacing, syntax, grammar, spelling, formatting, and length) Excellent written paper of required length and format with minimal syntax, spelling and/or grammar issues. Very good written paper of required length and format with minimal syntax, spelling and/or grammar issues. Paper is good but is slightly over or under the required word count or has some formatting issues. There are some syntax, spelling, and/or grammar issues, but these do NOT distract from the paper. Paper is fair but improvement is needed to meet academic standards. Paper is either too long, too brief or is not formatted correctly. Mistakes in syntax, grammar and/or spelling often distract from the quality of the work, and written language support is recommended Paper is not written to required academic standards. Paper is either too long, too brief or is not formatted correctly. Frequent mistakes in syntax, grammar and/or spelling distract from the quality of the work, suggesting urgent written language support is required /5

Assessment 3A Individual Written Assessment DUE: 21st MAY 2023
Written contribution to Health Promotion Plan (30%)
Background steps
Step 1. Work collaboratively as a group of three people to research, develop and design a health promotion plan for a digital presentation. As a group, select one priority population who will be the target for the health promotion plan:
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
Culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) people
Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning, intersex and/or other sexuality and gender diverse people (LGBTQI+)
people with mental illness
people of low socioeconomic status
people with disability
people living in rural, regional or remote locations.
Step 2. As a group, decide:
how you will approach health promotion for this cohort
which digital platform you will use
what type of content needs to be included in the final health promotion plan product
who will address which components/sections of the plan?
Step 3. Once step 1 and step 2 have been decided upon, each member of the group will research a part of the content that will be used in the final health promotion plan. For example, you might research and contribute some of the following to the plan:
infographics and/or statistics, data, education
a call for action to encourage involvement
key messages/ take-home messages for people to act on
specific pictures, diagrams, images, or language that is appropriate for this cohort
specific programs, apps, other support that would promote health or prevent disease in this cohort.
Steps for the Assignment
Step 4. Each individual group member must then write 1000 words related to their contribution to the health promotion plan. The following questions need to be addressed in your essay:
Analyse how your contribution to the health promotion plan targets the priority population and aims to prevent disease in the selected cohort, supported by evidence-based literature.
For example, you contribute diagrams, culturally appropriate artwork and images of Indigenous people to the health promotion plan you would need to analyse how these target Indigenous people specifically (according to the literature you have read about targeting this cohort).
Examine/explain why your contribution is important for promoting health and preventing disease in the selected cohort, supported by evidence-based literature.
You then need to examine/explain why this is important for promoting health and preventing disease in this cohort (for example the burden of disease is evident in the images/graphs, the statistics/facts might alert people to the problem. whatever evidence you have found to support why the inclusion of xxxx is important for health promotion/disease prevention in this group.
Analyse how your contribution to the health promotion plan demonstrates primary health care principles?
The principles of primary health care guide our activities in illness prevention, health promotion, and structural and environmental modifications that support health and wellness. These are identified as:
Accessible health care
Appropriate technology
Health Promotion
Cultural sensitivity
Intersectoral collaboration
Community participation
Each member must select two (2) different primary health care principles from this list
When answering this question, please include an explanation as to why the digital platform your group selected, was the best digital approach to target the selected cohort. Your response must be supported by evidence-based literature.
For example, discuss why the pictures, stats, information (whatever you contributed to the health promotion plan) increased access and health literacy, which was best delivered as a YouTube film or narrated PowerPoint (whichever digital platform was used) for this cohort because
You must use an essay format, so headings are NOT acceptable. A new paragraph should be used to address each new topic and/or question. Using an essay style for this assessment means there should be:
a clear introduction tell the reader what your paper will cover
the body that addresses all questions with appropriate paragraphing, referencing, spelling and grammar
a conclusion - that summarises your learnings from the literature you reviewed and from undertaking this activity of developing a health promotion plan to deliver digitally.
Remember the rubric contains further information about how you will be assessed. You must also include all details: full name, SID, and group; a coversheet and reference list.
