LETTER TO PARTICIPANTS
NRSG372 Principles of Nursing: Chronic Illness and Disability
Interview
Semester One, 2024
You are invited to participate in a short face to face, telephone or video call interview about your experience having a chronic illness or disability. The student conducting this interview is enrolled in NRSG372, a third unit in the Bachelor of Nursing conducted by Australian Catholic University (ACU).
The Bachelor of Nursing emphasises experiential learning through selected clinical practice and community experiences. The purpose of this interview is for students to understand the impact of chronic illness or disability on your life and the life of your family. The assessment will also help the student to identify care priorities, and to gain experience in the development of realistic health education goals and strategies.
If you agree to be part of this interview, it will mean a Bachelor of Nursing student will arrange a mutually convenient time to contact you, and with your permission, ask questions about your experience of living with a chronic illness or disability. Students will learn from listening to your story and hearing about what is important to you. They will therefore gain experience in communicating and in building partnerships for their future role as registered nurses.
Your privacy and confidentiality will always be maintained. Your real name is required for signing of the consent form, however, real names will not be used in submitted assessment items.
ACU especially welcomes evaluative comments about the interview process from participants, you are welcome to provide feedback to the email below. You can withdraw your participation from the interview at any time.
If you agree to be part of the interview, ACU welcomes you to our community. We ask that you sign the consent form provided and return it via mail or email to the student. If at any time you have any further queries about the program, feel free to contact the National Lecturer in Charge whose name, email address, and telephone number appear below.
