SCENARIO BASED PROJECT: The Tourism & Hospitality
The Scenario
The Tourism & Hospitality Sector (both in NSW or Victoria) has been affected by COVID 19 pandemic and recent environmental problems (forest fires, floods, landslides etc). Under these conditions, The Tourism & Hospitality sector in Australia has been affected by low numbers of tourist arrivals, poor participants at T & H based events and declining occupancy rates at the hotels and resorts . Tourism Australia is planning on a new business strategy.
Tourism Australia has appointed you as the primary consultant for this PROJECT. You are required to submit a Major Proposal to stimulate tourism and the hospitality sector.
One project conceived is a Major International Tourism & Hospitality EVENT- AUSTRALIAN FOOD AND WINE FESTIVAL AT YARRA VALLEY (VICTORIA) OR HUNTER VALLEY (New South Wales).

Establish a new strategy and target market,
Stimulate tourist interest for The Tourism & Hospitality Event - AUSTRALIAN FOOD AND WINE FESTIVAL AT YARRA VALLEY (VICTORIA) OR HUNTER VALLEY (New South Wales).
Using this Major International EVENT in either Victoria or NSW.
Increase the demand for occupancy by guests (domestic & International) at the Hotels .
Promote The Tourism & Hospitality Event as sustainable event.
Use Digital Media to accelerate destination to Victoria or NSW
Plan using a 3 year Timeline for promoting and implementation of the Event.
The scenario is time-based, with Tourism Australia constantly evaluating your proposal against key performance indicators using a timeline method for the event organisation, hotel accommodation, sustainable destination facilities and digital promotions. The Proposal must show how these activities could contribute to the organisations bottom line . The Proposal must have an action plan and an estimated budget.

Task Description
This SCENARIO BASED PROJECT is a major assessment carrying 40% of the marks for the subject. It is here that students will learn to align the pedagogy with the demands of the workplace.
The project is a rigorous and robust indication of the student teams ability to integrate theory and application and explain concepts, situations and outcomes by way of analysis.
Critical-reflection, consistent engagement and research skills are required by the students to arrive at an acceptable solution to selected industry problem/opportunity at the core of their project.

Executive Summary (3 paragraphs on the Proposal of International Event, Issues and Recommendation)
Remember use tables, charts to reduce description BUT discussion is important.
1.Introduction: AUSTRALIAN FOOD AND WINE FESTIVAL ( include brief, activities, date, location etc) 1-2 paragraphs
2. Macro and micro analysis of environment (provide high value data, graphs, charts) Analysis using SWOT, Porters, Marketing Models etc. Critical Commentary on of country, state (NSW or Victoria) and Event. (1-2 paragraphs only your critical assessments) * use of diagrams will reduce description.
3.Propose Rationale: How to stimulate tourist interest for The Tourism & Hospitality Event ( 1 paragraph)
4.Trends in the Tourism and Hospitality Sector (provide high value information) your assessment of future T & H sector 2022 onwards ( 1-2 paragraph of your assessments).
5. Strategy for the International Event (Target Market, Sustainability, Digital Promotion ) ( I paragraph)
