Part 1- The World: Theory - meet the K1 learning outcomes: Critical understanding of global entrepreneurship issues and challenges.
Task: You are required to individually select and research a global entrepreneurship theme from the below thematic options and to submit your research findings into an agreed format/structure as noted below.
Thematic Options
A - Geo-Political and Philosophy
B - Business Start-ups, Small Business Development, Developing successful global business ideas and exploring global markets; Business Models, Operations.
C - Social/Corporate/Sustainable Entrepreneurship, Ethics, and Philanthropy
D - UN Global Goals and Sustainable Development
E - Popular culture and Cultural Entrepreneurship
F - Human Resources, Leadership, Gender, Ethnicity, and Inclusion - Diversity and Equality
G - Global Marketing; brands and social media
H - Finance - Crowdfunding, Crypto-currency, Blockchain, Financial dealings, business planning challenges, and issues.
I - The Law and Global Entrepreneurship: Protecting your idea and Business - Intellectual Property, patents, trademarks, counterfeiting
J - Value Creation and Co-Creation, Internet of things, Innovation, Creativity. K - Your own option agreed with the Module Leader. *This could be a fusion of the above themes.

You should liaise with the module leader or tutor to ensure that you meet the learning outcome K1. Also please refer to the University of Sunderland Generic Assessment Criteria: Relevancy, Knowledge, Analysis, Argument and Structure, Critical Evaluation, Presentation, and Relevance to Literature.
Please ensure you familiarise yourself with the UGB 362 My Module Resources – the University of Sunderland Library, which contains journal articles, empirical studies, and other case studies which will allow you to explore and research the area/s of interest. If you are unsure at any stage of the assessment, please liaise with your module leader or tutor.
The approach
To build your knowledge and to help achieve
Part 1 – Theory
You will be formally introduced to various themes and theoretical issues and challenges of Global Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Sustainability. An important aspect of this is exploring the impact and disruption caused by the Covid 19 pandemic, climate change, and other key themes and issues being prioritized by stakeholders (for example, The UN, World Bank, Governments, WeForum - Davos 2020, Global Entrepreneurship Monitor, Civil Society, etc) in offering local and global solutions.
This will enhance your knowledge of the latest thinking and shared experiences from across the globe.
Part 2 - Our Global World
Weighting: 30% Working in groups of no less than 3 and no more than 5 you are required to critical appraisal of a micro-enterprise project-based activity through active research, innovation, and development.
On behalf of your group, you will be required 20 minutes group presentation (15 minutes of presentation and 5 minutes of questions) which reflects your research findings and supported recommendations- meeting K2 learning outcome and S1, S2, and S3.
Please note that your group theme should reflect a global or local impact. You must contact your tutor for assistance or clarification. Part 2 task will allow you to co-create, sharing experiences and skills/attributes which are important as part of the enterprise, employment, and
career/personal development point of view.
Covid 19 Contingency - There will be no face-to-face pitching due to the Covid 19 pandemic. However, you should support your work with creative visuals to enhance the skills outcomes S1, S2, and S3. The tutors will assist you through this process. Pitch and Supporting Slides –There is no word guide for this, but the minimum number of slides will be eight if using PowerPoint.
Part 3 - My Global World
You are required to submit a reflective log in which you identify how the module and assessments have influenced your understanding of the module and what skills/group skills and knowledge have you developed. Your reflective log narrative needs to be supported with relevant learning theory and must meet the K3 learning outcome - Critical reflection of entrepreneurial theories, concepts, and techniques.
You may wish to include as part of your submission:
- Belbin, Tuckman. Kolb, and relevant techniques.
- Evaluate your personal and global team performance.
- Complete the UGB 362 Rose/Spider Diagram and Global Entrepreneurship and Innovation skills and attributes. Examples and formats will be provided by the tutor.
