Learning Outcome 3: Examine how health and human service professionals may promote psychosocial wellbeing

Choose one (1) case study from the case studies provided.

Using appropriate scholarly literature, respond to the following questions in relation to your chosen case study:

Identify one (1) theory of human development that is relevant to your chosen case study and explain the importance of this theory in understanding the situation described. (400-450 words)

Identify one (1) risk factor and one (1) protective factor that has impacted on the person from your chosen case study. Explain how each factor could influence the outcome for this person. (400-450 words)

Discuss two (2) interventions that you as a future professional could implement to support the resilience of the person in the case study. (400-450 words)

Write a conclusionthatsummarisesthe overallessay without introducing any new information or references (approx. 100 words).

Case Study 1

Mila a four (4) year old girl and is about to commence kindergarten. She is the daughter of Sama, a 25-year-old woman who has sole parenting duties of Mila. Sama works at a local retail outlet. Samas mother lives with them and cares for Mila when Sama is at work. Mila has not attended any childcare outside of the home before.

Case Study 2

Jobe, a 14-year-old boy, proudly identifies as having a First Peoples heritage. He is in year nine at high school. His father, Jack, has just accepted a job interstate, and the family will be moving, so Jack will be starting a new school. Jack has always lived in the same neighbourhood, and most of his extended family live nearby. There will be no family living close by when they relocate.

Case Study 3

Jaleel, a 34-year-old man from Africa, has just completed his nursing degree in Australia and is offered a full-time job in a Queensland hospital. Jaleel is keen to make Australia his home as he has enjoyed his experiences here during his studies. Jaleels wife is still in Africa with his three-year-old daughter, born just as he commenced his degree. They have not lived as a family for some time.
