Alternate Assessment (for Research Participation).
Students who choose not to complete the research participation assessment item may instead complete this exercise to earn an equivalent amount of credit. To earn credit equivalent to 5 hours of research participation, students should select and read 5 journal articles from the list provided below and answer the questions below in relation to each article. Completing the 7 questions for 1 article is worth 1 hour of credit.
It is permissible to do a combination of research participation and alternate assessment.
Requirements:
New page for each article being reviewed
Include the full reference for the article at the top of the page (use APA format).
Answers MUST be written in your own words (plagiarising entire sentences from articles is unacceptable and a breach of academic integrity)
Answers to questions 1 to 7 should be typed below the reference in 12 point font using 1.5 or double line spacing. Start a new page for each article.
Recommended length is 500 words per article.
Include your name and student number on every page.
Submit using TurnItIn (on the Research Participation page in Assessment on Learning@Griffith) by 11:59 pm, Friday, October 14th, 2022.

Were any specific hypotheses or predictions stated or implied? If so, describe them.
Describe the participants (e.g., how many, any relevant characteristics)
Imagine you were a participant in this study. Describe what you were required to do (e.g., identify the tasks that were administered, describe what each task entailed). If multiple experiments were reported, answer this question for Experiment 1 only.
Briefly describe how the descriptive statistics were presented (e.g., tables, figures).
Briefly describe the results in relation to the hypotheses. Were the predictions supported? What conclusions did the researchers make?
Identify any concepts/theories/techniques mentioned in the article that have been covered in lectures and / or tutorials in Introduction to Psychology 2.
