Main Essay

This assessment counts for 60% of your overall grade for this module.

A. Design a social intervention that your church would want to undertake. Then write a project

plan demonstrating a detailed knowledge of the project or topic of the students choice which is

discussed in advance with the lecturer.

B. Critically evaluate a current community project in your context using one of the mission and

social transformation theorists considered in the course. Briefly outline the theorists, your context,

what is strong and what could be improved.

C. Conduct a local community asset mapping exercise. Identify such assets as local people, groups,

organisations and places that are supporting the Good Life in your neighbourhood. In what ways

could your church better discover, connect and mobilise these assets together for the common

good?

D. Consider how a Hebrew prophesy like Isiah 65 for the New Jerusalem could inform and inspire

your churchs vision of social transformation from within your local neighbourhood. What could

this look like? What could help and hinder such a vision becoming a reality?
