Bush Fire Assessment Report

Task

Participants are required to locate a parcel of land on the urban bushland interface and prepare a plan of subdivision for a residential development. There are to be at least 20 residential (or rural- residential) allotments in the final design. The development may be SEPP Seniors Living (retirement home) if in NSW, Tasmania or Victoria but the proposal will need to comply with the restrictions for that type of development.

Participants are to approach this assignment from a Bushfire Consultant perspective.The purpose of the assignment is to develop a report suitable for submission to the Council and the Fire Service. The report must deal with the critical policy issues of the relevant legislation that has been identified in the notes and during the workshop period.

Although not exclusive, the report should include the following:

• Comply with any requirements of your jurisdiction in relation to access, water, setbacks and You should also consider refuge areas and landscaping if relevant.
