CIVL4020 Construction Research Project

An industry-based research (e.g. a case study from industry to answer/ further explore the research questions raised from your literature review in ‘Construction Research Methods-CRM’) should be developed with the supervisor’s advice and submitted online via vUWS by end of Week 5.

Students must start working on their projects in week 1.

The deadlines for all the submissions are very stringent. Students are encouraged to manage their projects right from week 1. Students who manage their time effectively and finish the reports on time will be able to demonstrate their project management skills, which would be an essential requirement to obtain a job in the industry

The proposal must include:

Title Page -

Include the project title, student’s name, student number and supervisor’s name - (not word counted)

Background -

Here you provide the background context against which you will conduct your project. This will include a brief summary of what is already known about the issue or topic as well as some of the problem areas that directly relate to your proposed work. You also need to establish the significance of your project. This could be revised from your CRM literature review.

Aim/objective -

Be realistic about what you can accomplish in the duration of the project.
